Eh, no point in burrowing vehicles for the time being. Mind you, if we just got an extra two production lines, those poor bastards have to deal with a LOT more Karsts :D

That being said, Working on a better fighter seems like the best bet for now.

Erek Fighter Craft
A significantly larger craft, akin to the human fighters in size, and with a mass to match. Using a fusion engine to power the beast, along with a veritable array of weaponry to make it an exception air superiority craft. With a nasal gauss cannon, a quartet of plasma-lensed lasers and a pair of missile racks carrying around five air-to-air missiles, all fitted with a potent explosive. Whilst still piloted by AI, the size of the craft permits a far more powerful one compared to the Ki'k.
My vote.

Kornak SAL

A cheap surface-to-air laser able to shoot both aircraft and missiles with great efficiency.

Erek Fighter Craft

The Erek Fighter is a high speed, heavily armed air superiority fighter. The droplet shaped craft, build around a fusion scramjet that provides shows legacy of the Kal Terek's space centric lifestyle, having no clearly definable top or bottom. It's a VTOL craft, capable of reaching speeds up to Mach 6, though it is not very maneuverable and can't utilize it weapons near top speed due to power and overheating concerns. It sports an integrated gauss cannon, and mounts that allow for the installation of 4 smaller weapons (lasers, for the moment), as well as external mounts that allow for the eventual installation of missile weaponry (none at this moment). All is controlled by an adaptive AI system, which can learn and adapt to enemy attacks. Batch Size: 1

Ohohoho boy. We get some ordinance for that thing to drop, and they may as well all surrender immediately. If we have a significant number of them.

Batch size one, no missiles? We might as well stick with Ki'k drones for the moment.

For revision we should add improved anti-missile/laser armor (particularly something around the engine) or improve manuverability.  Not having our superior armor and not being more maneuverable then the human craft are both glaring flaws.  Not to mention the small batch size, but that is less of a concern if the craft are really as good as we hope.

As a question, if we were to make a missile system or other weapons next turn could we retrofit existing craft at no cost?

Yeah, fixing that manoeuvrability flaw is a priority. The batch size isn't too bad if we focus on making these things with most of our production lines.

Research phase should be focused on human detection systems and how to hide our craft best from them.

Stealthy pods should be totally doable now that we have those fusion ramjets.

Either missiles or self replicating drones.

Should we try to cheapen the Erek? Or maybe make it more maneuverable?

I think we should make some missiles for it on the next design phase. Hell, let's make missiles for everyone. Especially the Earthlings (in other words, I want to blow their military to kingdom come).

The Erek is too expensive to be useful as it is. Plus, it doesnt help with our two main issues (Our troops get shot down when landing, and we don't have good garrison units for our existing territory).

Install some good point defense weapons on our Improced Combat Drop Pod's weapons mount. Have our engineers test both laser and gauss PD and settle on the most effective. The Improved Combat Drop Pod's fire controls probably will need some love for maximum efficiency.
