Well, given that'd it be more efficient to just use machine labour after just stripping the world of life, and that they'd be inclined to do that, yeah.

I think we all have to agree on the fact that we aren't here for material resources (There's plenty of easier worlds for that.), but rather for the humans themselves.

+1 to haveing a multiracial effort, why stick with one?

Once we gets started lets try "recruiting" some humans, fit them with bomb collars and giving then swords / crap weapons for foot soldiers.

Agree, plus that's about the LAST thing *I* want to see from this kind of game - author spending valuable development time on useless graphics.

Unofficial slogan of Bay 12 Games.

We could be here to extract everything in the solar system into a usable form and the humans just represent a long term, unknown threat that needs to be dealt with first.

Or we might not currently be adapted to an oxygen environment, but we could eventually and it is still very valuable as a rare living planet.

Why not a different solar system to mine instead?

The second one actually makes some sense, given genetic/chemical engineering. Basically kicking humanity off earth and setting up a bunch of resorts on their corpses :P

We are mining all of them  :)  this is just one we are observing.

Not really? There'd be more usable materials in the asteroid belt alone compared to the amounts on earth, and they'd be far more easily mined.

What we really need to do is build some engines on an asteroid, then have everyone on the planet sign-up to be subverted/brainwashed on pain of asteroid impact.

That's pretty much the orbital bombardment plan.  The difference between tungsten-loaded railguns and asteroids with engines tends towards zero the more force you put behind your projectile.

And again, the GM isn't going to let us do that.

Is there anything wrong with this plan, really? It's as though nobody noticed it.

Well, first off we'd likely actually have to research their individual militaries and their HQs and such. And such an overt raid would very much polarise the entire earth against us. When we go in, we go in hard anf fast, but not before we are prepared, and we know how every minutiae of their doctrines and equipment work.

We could send down a small automated probe.

Or a large sized one filled with kidnapping/looter robots, they grab whatever they can nearby then take off and escape.

Again, the more brutesque our methods, the more likely those nations are going to gang up.
