The problem I have with that system is that one side won't be completely destroyed and then battles would take longer. but I could use retreats and maybe you can only retreat if you have free movement points  Hmm...

Also on the tunnel teleport, that's what I wanted it to be used for, I won't be telling you any features on the surface if you scout like that though.  I will tell you the terrain type.

(Feel free to discuss strategy I didn't think of everything when I first created the game so I am happy to have you guys figure out anything super over powered so I can fix it and make it reasonable.)

Ok. Now I have some questions.
1. How long this game is supposed to be played?
2. What is the purpose? Is it survival or competitive?
3. What tools do you use? I see cartographer, but I think managing all the ant groups manually can be troublesome.
4. Why we have no discussion about game and only rules/actions posts?
1) the first run of this lasted almost to winter. this is the second run, and we are just into fall.
2) It's colony management. there are combat rules, both for inter-colony battle and for battle with animals (centipedes and such) that spawn naturally. we just haven't encountered any of them. Also, it was stated last game that food sharing and alliances are allowed. It's not a "winner take all" game. To be honest, most colonies last run probably understockpiled food, and wouldn't make it through the winter without severe losses, so survival so far beats competition.

4) I tend not to strategize with other players. Personal preference. Feel free. There is a separate thread for discussing improvements to the game, but I don't have the link on hand.

4. Because most of us havent met anyone yet, and are just expanding?
2) the biggest threat so far is winter and starvation. Most ant colonies haven't adeuately taken food consumption into account, even with the GM's repeated hint in terms of the "food needed by winter" stat.

yeah last game was the same thing, but that was more my bad organization on my part and some of them not planning so I *randomly* got an event that gave them lots of extra food.

All foragers forage
50 Ants evolve to farmers.
All other ants forage.

well, lat game, I just simply failed to math. this time, I was aware at the start that I needed mostly foragers, and if you evolve anything beyond foragers, either have at least 75% foragers, or have tiny evolutions and farmers. I think the first year is best spent simply stockpiling food and expanding your burrows, up to winter. winter is the time for breeding and other activities. Prep your foragers for springtime, then send them out all spring and summer, and worry about other activities fall and winter.

of course, this gives the random monsters time to generate, at which point armies become more important, unless the group had been in a cooperative mood from the start and scouted out all the dens and stationed ants there to prevent spawning.

How counts queen feeding? I see lv1 queen eating 5 and 10. Lv0 seems to eat 5.
How exactly ravaging works?
What default lifetime is?

Queen eats 5 per level plus 5

Ravaging makes your foragers cheaper but they could ruin the tile they forage at.

The lifetime thing has no affect on the game I brought it up because someone was joking about killing their Queen, don't worry about it unless your Queen dies.

It's in the special evolution section but I need to make that easier to read so every ravager gives you a .5% chance to degrade the tile one step: fertile---> normal---->barren, but they reduce the upkeep on your foragers by one.
