What does it mean to pad population numbers?

The population numbers are brought up orders of magnitude according to the poll. If '1' would win, a population of 2500 would become 25 000. With '3', 2500 would become 2500 000. This has no real effect, as costs, piety etc. are given similar changes.

Mmm, making a divine smith to forge weapons of power isn't "cheap" as such, it's pretty cool I think. I've been considering making someone similar, or a race of someones similar, arm the protectors of the forests.

It wouldn't be if anyone but Andres made it  . He mostly wants all his guys to have powerful weapons without paying for them, which is kinda cheap.

On a 3d6, I'm hoping it'll give my angels a +1 advantage or something similarly minor. This reason is secondary, however. The primary reason Eid wants them is because angel weapons look freaking cool.

The Teacher thing is definitely to make things cheaper, however. Why would I spend crap-tons of Essence implanting magical knowledge in my angels when they can just learn that stuff on their own? It's not like they're short on time or anything.

It makes no sense to duplicate efforts save in cases of dire need (i.e. WAR!!!!! or disaster relief) that require hasteful acquisition of capacity to perform.

I disagree. A being with more knowledge of something is always going to be able to teach a being with lesser knowledge. They don't need a trait to do that.

True, but giving them an actual Teacher trait should speed up the time it takes to teach a student significantly.

You could have good students with a focus on learning though, which negates the necessity for another trait

The Kitsoony Focus is Explore-Perform, which was an unintended consequence of me wanting them to travel and learn about other cultures to provide performances tailored for different races.

Even then, you could just influence a creation to be inclined toward learning, and it'll happen.

So instead of paying for large multipliers for master-level plasmamancy, I'd be paying for large multipliers for Learner traits. For obvious reasons, I'd rather just have one creation with the Teacher trait than multiple with the Learner trait.

Learner would be good for actual races but not for angels who are made in small numbers.

I really disagree with that. Although a good teacher also is able to teach their students more thoroughly and ensure the knowledge/habits are properly engrained. A Teacher trait would be interesting, but I really doubt it would work as Andres was describing, necessarily. You can only be taught so far, with powerful magic, is my guess, for balance reasons.
