The change is much closer to what I meant the school to be. I can understand the confusion now (the fact that I didn't read their description didn't help), what I meant for binding to a god was more like "mortal now has to do X for Y god in exchange of Y" or some sort of telepathic/emotional/whatever bond. I suppose it would also be possible for someone to tap into a god's sphere in a way or another, but that would require a great deal of devotion and skill, along with the consent of said god (because there's no way a mortal would be able to overpower a god for this kind of pact). I think I'll go edit the post in which I've described them for more details that just came to my mind. I'll also keep a copy for convenience.


Also would you mind explaining me how does this stacking and mirroring thing work? I think I'm not the only one not understanding this.

I might have forgotten to answer a question, gonna do that right now.

Stacking and mirroring!

The new magic system has many dimensions (which aren't named so much as characterized). Placement on a six-dimensional grid determines which of the sample paths (from this post and its vicinity) a school most resembles. Custom schools can also have the same 6-D location. Having the same 6-D location is referred to as stacking, which I consider the strongest comparison as far as path similarity goes. Mirroring refers to the case where two paths/schools (interchangeable at this point) are located opposite each other in one of three dimensions. While it is frequently a reasonably strong comparison as far as anti-similarity/opposites go, it is far weaker than stacking. Other comparisons are present, but I think none of them quite approach the strength of mirroring and stacking.

(For the statistically inclined, a stronger comparison here is roughly analogous to a stronger correlation, positive or negative.)

FArgHalfnr: It seems OK. Magic here is balanced by inexperienced people simply being unable to do advanced/impressive feats, so superficially OP schools will likely have few active mages. (also, sheet updated)

What about my survey questions? I put them right under the survey.

EDIT: Also, for 3.1, I really wouldn't mind NPCs autonomously starting holy wars or losing faith in their god for not joining if it makes sense. My only objection to 3.1 is any artificial creation of relevance.

I know, but I wasn't sure if 27.4 meant a suggestion need to be made in the survey or if we should discuss them here until writing this post. Current pantheon mechanics should stay the same.

I've edited my previous post twice regarding my stance on 3.1.

For 11.0, I was downvoting the idea that we should pick a small thing that interferes with our creations so we can ban it. To answer the question, I'd say that veto-ing would be the smallest roadblock.

1.1 Abstain

9.0 Downvote. They shouldn't give any artificial bonuses beyond what bonuses they give naturally.
