Golden Boughs are a distinctive style of tree, created specially as part of the forestry planted in Uth-Vel by the Artist (just moving standard trees and plants there costs no points). They have the colour and shine of gold to their leaves, which slightly affects their ability to photosynthesise (chloroplasts are still in the leaves, just occluded by golden pigment). They produce sweet blue fruit. [-10 points]
Shapir Lizards, a new type of animal, are tough, blue-scaled tetrapods that graze on mushrooms and fallen fruit. Their hides are particularly tough and flexible. [-10]
Dreios, larger creatures similar to the shapir lizards, are much larger creatures with dull brown scales, fat bodies, slender legs and a fast pace. They tend to eat fruit from trees, or taller mushrooms. They make for good eating. [-10]
Ruby Snakes are similar to the shapir lizards, but limbless and slither across the ground. Their skin, whilst thinner that that of their cousins, is covered in brilliant ruby-red scales. They eat shapirs and sometimes bite and swallow infant dreios, as well as various movifungi. [-10]
Golden Birds are particularly good at hiding in Golden Boughs, as their feathers match the trees' colouration. They dart down and eat shapirs, and sometimes flocks will work together to harrass an infant dreios and drive it away from its herd where they can do it sufficient injury for it to die. Once an infant dreios dies, the flock descends upon the carcass like vultures. [-10]
The Seer of Memory is forged on Ur, a golden circlet that when placed upon one's head allows one to access the Memory Pyramid and search for specific memories without being driven mad. However, the circlet only shields one from madness, and once taken off the insanity the wearer should have been subject to will all return at once. It is taken into possession by the Canids, whose leader wears it. [-50]
The Tower of Stars sits upon the highest peak of Amparea, where it has a clear view of the sky. One can operate the telescope there to view any star in the heavens, within the hemisphere of its operation. Magnification allows one to see just the stars visible to the naked eye, or even distant galaxies whose light would normally be diffused by atmosphere. [-25]
Eaglekin are essentially giant, sapient eagles. They have keen eyesight, are particularly intelligent, and can fly more capably than the Avioids, as well as having better natural weapons (talons and pounces). On the flip side, they have no hands and have to try and work with beaks and claws, so their ability to make and use complex tools is somewhat limited. They are situated in the mountains of Amparea, predating the creatures below.
Grazers, four-limbed herbivores, appear across the world and spread into the open plains of those lands, feeding on shrubs and ground fungi.
Birds of all shapes and sizes follow the Golden Birds into the world, including lesser eagles, and spread out over creation, settling wherever they can, save the dark caverns.
Magur, bestial creatures of living molten stone emerge from the magma flows of the volcanoes, the deep sea vents, even the caverns where they dip into the magma flows. keeping close to the fire that sustains them, devouring stone and reshaping it in their passage; as walls, as tunnels, as mounds.
Frost Serpents are created, gigantic sea snakes with a drive to roam, to swim and to feast. They are trapped in the ice of the poles, kept alive but frozen by the magic that resonates through the ice caps.
Magical Negation: Reality around this star shifts, and the power of its light gains the capacity to dampen Radiance and weaken the powers of magic and magical creatures, so long as it is reflected from water ice.
Black Ice: All water ice no longer reflects light, turning completely matte black. The moon, Cath, turns into a dark shadow in the sky, but its gravitational effects remain the same - when the two moons coincide in their phases, tidal waves will come. Clouds are black in the sky, and snow is like falling soot, although rain is still clear.
Enos appear on the Gas Giant; sapient, winged blue humanoids capable of breathing oxygen and methane. They can fly, as expected, but are particularly adapted for their light, buoyant home environment. Enos fly at a reduced speed and manoeuvreability in the main world and are somewhat more fragile than other races.
Sky Trees take root on the back of Sky Lords, sinuous blue trees with red leaves that take root on the backs of Sky Lords. They produce red citrus fruit, and spread by firing long range seed capsules at other Sky Lords. The wood of a living Sky Tree can be shaped by a sapient being through force of will, but not in such a way that reduces or increases its mass (to increase, it must grow naturally).
The
Warp Spire juts up through the centre of Uth-Vel, a spire of solid titanium. It serves as an anchor for the
Enos Teleport, a form of teleportation Enos can instinctively activate up to seven times in their lives. When activated on the Giant (ideally a-back a Sky Lord), an Enos will teleport to the spire. From the spire an Enos will return to the Sky Lord they left. An Enos born on the world would teleport to whatever Sky Lord their mother left (or her mother etc. if that mother had never left a Sky Lord).
The
Saen are shaped into being, flitting across the world in countless forms and natures, feeding on Radiance to sustain themselves and occasionally linking with a sapient being, granting them access to their innate magic. They are manifestations of magic, incoporeal and illusory unless they are merged with the body of a sapient creature, and take the form of countless fantastical creatures. However, they are not sapient themselves, posessing little more intelligence or self-awareness than animals.
The
Shadow Guard who take shape in the bowels of the world are not truly sapient, but rather echoes of the spirits of those who die valiantly in the Underworld; living darkness with the strength of flesh and bone, pressed into the shape of heroes. There are 100 of these at any time, and cannot be truly destroyed but instead reform elsewhere in the shape of another dead hero. They cannot leave the underworld, but can teleport freely from and to any dark place beneath it. Shadow guards are compelled to attack those of the surface who delve too deep beneath the world, and will sometimes appear randomly during underground battles to intervene on one side or the other.
The
Mole Wolves are quadrupeds with wolf-like furred bodies and mole-like heads and snouts, lined with teeth. They hunt in packs by sound and scent and can burrow through earth and solid rock. They predate various creatures throughout the world.
Radiance: The core of the world is changed, and now emits magic in a wild and chaotic form, typically manifesting visibly as an array of colours or a haze in the air. Radiance typically escapes through volcanic cracks in the earth, but sometimes also through rivers or storms.
Devouring Magic: The devouring of sapient creatures (or a gluttonous amount of animals or plants) grants one characteritics of that which is devoured, such as strength, speed or flight. It usually triggers morphological changes as well. This magic is voluntary, and must be specifically invoked.
Memory Capture: Every sapient being in this system has its memories copied into the Memory Pyramid on Ur, instantly.
Magical Negation: Sunlight dampens Radiance and weakens the powers of magic and magical creatures, so long as it is reflected from water ice.
Black Ice: Ice water no long reflects any light, appearing to be matte black.
