Welcome to the United States Linde Penitentiary, a renowned high security prison placed in the outskirts of Nevada. Some of the most dangerous criminals and terrorists are kept inside, placed here directly by the government. And with good reason. Linde Penitentiary boasts some of the most advanced security systems available, including remotely controlled and reinforced doors, CCTV monitoring, electrified fencing, motion sensors, and more. The prison's exact location is unknown to the public and miles away from civilization. Surrounded by vast mountains and endless desert, Linde Penitentiary has a reputation for being inescapable.
Just a few weeks ago, a new prisoner was brought to the prison under the cover of night by a special ops team, placed within a secret section of the prison. Along with the prisoner came a new warden, sent to make sure that this prisoner received the proper treatment. Access to this prisoner is restricted exclusively to the warden and his personal team. None of the guards or other staff members at the prison know the prisoner's identity or location within the prison. Even the prisoner's name and appearance is a mystery. However, some members of the staff have started spreading rumors, claiming that they heard the warden refer to the prisoner by the name "Argon" and that plans are being made to move this prisoner again.
Some of these rumors are making people nervous. One of the cooks claimed to hear the warden discussing with his superiors about a criminal group seeking to obtain the prisoner. No one is sure if any of these rumors are true. Whatever the case, the regular staff have been told to just continue their duties and not concern themselves with the mysterious prisoner. The warden has assured them that he will handle it and there is nothing to be concerned about....
This is a team vs team prison break themed RTD. The setting for this game is a high-security prison containing an extremely valuable prisoner, which has suffered an unexpected power shutdown as a team of criminal infiltrators enter the facility to free the prisoner. Players can either choose to be a prison staff member, aka "Guard", focused on keeping the prisoner contained, or a criminal infiltrator, aka "Goon", tasked with getting the prisoner out. The power shutdown only lasts about an hour of ingame time, after which all security settings are restored and the prison becomes inescapable. As such, this game will end after 30 turns, with each turn being about 2 minutes of ingame time.
Standard RTD mechanics apply, with bonuses and penalties applied based on character stats. This is my first RTD, but I'll try to update the game regularly and keep it interesting. "Goons" will be able to utilize stealth and misdirection, but "Guards" can coordinate with each other easier. I'll start the game after getting 3-5 "Guards".
If you want to be a prison staff member post your character sheet in this thread. After your sheet is accepted, you will post your actions here and receive turn updates here. However, if you want to join the game as a hired criminal infiltrator, pm me your character sheet instead. After your sheet is accepted, you will instead play the game via PM. PM me your actions and I will PM your turn updates at the same time as everybody else. After the game ends, I will edit each of the Turn Updates posted in this thread to include any PMed actions and updates. Players can continue to join even after the game starts and I'll work them into the story somehow. There is a maximum of 5 player guards, but no limit on player goons. Anyone who wants to join as a guard after the maximum is reached will be wait listed and join the game after one of the player guards die.
<Character Sheet>
Name: (can be a codename if playing as a goon)
Gender: (self-explanatory)
Appearance: (describe what you look like)
Bio: (describe your character's backstory, goals, why they became the role they are, etc. Criminals don't need to specify how they were recruited onto the criminal team, I'll take care of that. I may use this info when spawning your character)
(You have 18 points to spend between stats and items.)
Stats: (These affect some of your dice rolls, providing a bonus or penalty. All stats start at 0; 0 pts = -1, 1-2 pts = +0, 3-4 pts = +1, 5+ pts = +2)
-Strength: (Physical Damage; Physical actions)
-Agility: (Travel speed; Dodging; Action timing)
-Endurance: (Pain Tolerance; Stamina; Reduces penalties from injuries)
-Mental: (Intuition; Thinking; Learning; Mental fortitude; Identifying objects, people, places, etc)
-Awareness: (Spot others and surprise attacks; Better search results; More information gained from sight, hearing, and smell)
Items: (The full list of specific items you can buy are hidden. Instead, you can buy an item within a category, spending 1 to 6 points. The specific item you get is determined by your team and the amount of points you spend on it. You can buy multiples of an item category if you want.)
....<Ranged Weapon>: A ranged weapon, such as a Pistol or Taser. A higher Awareness stat corresponds with better accuracy when using a ranged weapon.
....<Melee Weapon>: A melee weapon, such as a Baton or Knife. Melee combat benefits from higher Strength and Agility.
....<Medical>: A medical item, such as a First Aid Kit or Painkillers. Mental and Awareness stats contribute to successful first aid.
....<Protection>: A type of protective item, usually worn, like a Bullet Proof Vest or Riot Shield. These items provide significant protection against lethal attacks, but tend to give a -1 penalty to one or two stats when worn.
....<Utility>: An item with multiple functions, such as a Toolkit or Welding Torch. These items tend to be most useful in non-combat situations.
....<Misc>: Unusual items, such as Pepper Spray or Tear Gas, which can usually be found while searching certain areas in the prison.
After submitting your character, I will also do a character creation roll to determine if your character starts out with any additional advantages or disadvantages related to his/her starting location, starting items, abilities, etc. What you get will be revealed on your first turn in the game. Your character creation roll will correspond with this table:
..Rolled = Received
..1 = Major disadvantage
..2 = Minor disadvantage
..3 = Minor disadvantage & minor advantage
..4 = Minor advantage
..5 = Major advantage
..6 = Major advantage & major disadvantage

Communicators have 2 modes: Active mode & Silent mode. Active mode relays received messages immediately. At the moment, all communicators for the guard team are set to silent mode. When a message is sent, the receiving communicators save the received message and emit several low-volume beeping noises to alert the owner. The owner can then play the received message when they see fit. The message can be played at any volume desired, with the maximum volume setting being slightly less than the volume of someone yelling.
Player: Xvareon [Joined Turn 0]
Name: Shavonne Nichols (Codename: "Rain")
Gender: Female
Appearance: Stocky build, 5'7" tall. Has short black hair that she usually keeps behind a green bandanna. Green eyes. Commonly wears a gray pocketed hoodie and beige cargo pants, and brings a shoulder satchel or something similar when she has to carry more items.
Bio: Shavonne was once part of the Irish Reserve Defense Forces. She attempted to take it a step further and join the SAS Special Forces, but found that she didn't make the cut, even though her sheer marksmanship skill let her blow away most of her competition. (Almost literally, onnnce or twice, which is... partly why she didn't make it.) With her career prospects pretty much dashed, she attempted to find PMC work in the United States, and soon latched onto a risky job with very tantalizing prospects...
Stats: Shavonne achieved a decent median average in most aspects of physical and mental conditioning as a result of her military training, especially with regard to enduring the weight of high-power weaponry and 60 lb. backpacks simultaneously on her daily runs, but never achieved anything truly spectacular. Still, she can usually be counted on to not slow the group down.
STR - 2
AGI - 2
END - 2
MNT - 1
AWR - 2
Items: A salvager and survivor by nature, Shavonne tends to bring one or two good items to let her do her job well, and bring just enough to finish the rest.

Bio: Johnny watched a lot of gangster movies when he was a kid, and while he didn't remember the aesop "crime does not pay", he certainly kept the image of a rich and influential man with every luxury that he could ever want. That image stuck with him for 5 years of his life before he finally managed to plead the local mobster into introducing him into the business. This is one of his first jobs, and he sure doesn't want to fuck it all up.
Stats:
-Strength: 5.
