We were planning to hunt anyway

Turn 17

You get a heavy rock. Bulb follows your lead but you don't think the other plant guy gets it.

You smash the closest crab.

Bulb follows your lead and begins to smash the crabs.

One of the crabs run off. They aren't tough but they are faster then they seem. You gather up the crab bodies and the fruit from the tree.

When you get back the plants give the crab bodies to their mother. You snatch up one of the bodies so you can check it out though. The crab is pretty fragile and doesn't look like it is much of a threat.

You start checking if the fruit is edible by cutting it in half to inspect the flesh. Except instead of fruity insides you find a small undeveloped crab.

You consider the next course of action you should take. It would be nice to have some weapons so you could work on fashioning some rock clubs, spears or some other manner of weaponry.

Fortifying the campsite would also be an idea but would take a lot of time and materials.

That said maybe you should explore the island more in order to find a better campsite. With a little more manpower you can probably relocate the plant's mother as long as you are careful.

start making rock clubs until we have five.
Then hunt for more animals and feed them to motherplant until we have 2 more plantguys
Start fortifying Camp
basically up our fire and manpower to more easily construct the base

But Each time try to cook and eat some parts of the animals. Ration bars only go so long.

Also maybe we should cultivate some reeds or long grass to make useful string.
I mean we might need rope to make better tools, like a stone axe.

Turn 18

You assemble some crude clubs from the local materials. You cut some of the smaller trees up with your survival knife and use the grasses to tie rocks to them. You explain to Bulb and the other guy what you are doing as you go in the hopes that they will understand. Bulb seemed to get at least that you needed rocks and brought you enough to make the five clubs you wanted.

Once you and your plant friends are equipped with your crude weapons you head to the northeast since you saw a lot of crabs around there before. They are still around and look eager to fight apparently.

These crabs aren't that much of a threat now that you are armed so you and Bulb wade into them. The new plant guy on the other hand doesn't seem to have gotten a handle on how to smash crabs yet and gets bitten a few times.

Some of the crabs are fleeing and you were considering pursuing until you noticed the large predator approaching from the north.

Didn't we get the pilot? Can't we scan his brain?
If we did, +1, but I think they either got scrambled by the tractor beam or got blown out into space.
This is a normal discussion, folks.

How can I miss something like this for over a year??
I'm glad to see you back, Lincoln, and you even brought a (somewhat unhealthy looking) Green Ridgeback with you! ;)

Welcome back!

Regarding the game:
Offer 2 or 3 of the crabs to the green ridgeback, but be careful. Try to tell the plantkins to wait where they are while you try to make a new friend. They can gather the remaining crab corpses while you are busy.

+1. Keep the laser handy, though.
