And then cook the remaining crab corpse. Also see if you can grab a couple sacs of acid from the lightning Rhinos back. Might come in handy if you need to make electronics.

((Hurray Subnautica! Teaching me that Acid is needed to create Batteries!))

Turn 14



With the excitement over you sort out some of the tasks that had piled up. Firstly you tend to your burns the best you can, luckily they are fairly minor so it looks like they will heal fairly quickly.

While Mother Plant is consuming the lightning rhino you manage to cut some of it's acidic nodules out, you never know when you'll need some acid.

You also setup the distress beacon, might as well try and get rescued.

After that it is about time that you eat and drink. The thirst is trivial since you have the water purifier. You also give Bulb another helping of water as further reward.

For food you construct a campfire and see about cooking the crab. After the carapace is removed it's fairly easy to cook, the crab's body caramelizes. It tastes like some sort of stringy potato plum and you can't eat much of it, the flesh burns your mouth a little. You end up eating 2 ration bars since what you ate of the crab wasn't enough to satisfy your hunger.

The sun begins to set

Kiwis- Odd man out of both the animal and plant kingdoms.
Didn't we get the pilot? Can't we scan his brain?
If we did, +1, but I think they either got scrambled by the tractor beam or got blown out into space.

Link the compressor to the tent.  that way we don't need to worry about air running out when we sleep

Link the compressor to the tent.  that way we don't need to worry about air running out when we sleep

Turn 15



You strike up some conversation with Bulb before you go off an explore the surroundings before the sun sets completely. It still mostly sounds like it's just making weird noises but you recognize some of the noises as words. There isn't much grammar or sense to them but it is an improvement on plant gibberish.


West:

Some more beach and a small stream coming down from the mountain.


North West:

The stream continues up to the island's larger mountain.


North:

Some trees and what looks like some small crabs scurrying around.


North East:

More trees and even more crabs. It looks like some of them are having a fight.


East:

More beach.



You return from exploring just as the light begins to completely disappear. You also return just in time to witness the miracle of plant birth.



You and Bulb pull your new friend out of the ground. The two plant-guys then proceed to make lots of plant jabber at each-other. You are feeling pretty tired after this whole ordeal. You should probably get to sleep unless you want to interact with the new guy for a bit.

Even if the tent has air there's no reason not to. +1. We might as well switch our laser battery for a fresh one as well, while we're at it.

+1. Pressurize the tent with fresh air from the purifier first if necessary.
As for tomorrow, I agree with 0 & 1, would add a caveat to 2 (don't use any ammunition in hunting at this stage if we can help it. I'd rather use up a few ration bars.), and would drop 3 in favour of further exploration, since a) I doubt any wall we could build in a reasonable timeframe would be of much use (until we get more plant-friends) and b) I'd rather look around to see if there's a better campsite around first.

I would ask why fire can burn two men to death without getting hot enough to burn a book, but then I read "INEXTINGUISHABLE RUNNING KAMIKAZE RADIOACTIVE FLAMING ZOMBIE" and realized that logic, reason, and physics are all occupied with crying in the corner right now.

Turn 16



You talk with the plants a bit before hitting the hay. You notice that the two of them seem pretty sluggish and aren't as talkative which confirms your suspicions about their need for light. You make sure all of the tubing is hooked up and your suit's tank is full before you go to bed.



You wake up to see the plants sleeping by their 'mother'.



You decide to check out the purity of the nearby stream. Your walking around wakes up the plants and they begin to follow you.



You can't tell to much without any equipment but the water definitely looks better then the stuff from the ocean.



The plants examine the water and begin drinking from the stream. It would seem they are a lot more confident in the water's purity then you are. Given that you have your own water purifier you opt not to drink any quite yet but it's good to know there is a water supply that is at least good enough for the plants nearby.



Now to check out the fruit that is growing around here.



As you approach the tree the nearby crabs gather and block your path. You have to admit it's not very intimidating, they don't even have claws.

Looks like you will have to fight them to get at those fruit.
