Turn 11

Your first instinct as a human is to destroy the new life-form, actually maybe a lightning rhino would make a cool pet. Maybe a delicious ration bar would be enough to sway it to your cause.

When you approach the lightning rhino it makes weird aggressive gargling noises.

You toss a ration bar to it since it seems inappropriate to get any closer. The rhino however thinks that where you are already is inappropriate and begins to sparkle with electricity.

Keep our gun drawn on it too,
we don't want to get zapped to death.

Goodness, the nostalgia hits me hard--everytime I've read how an animal reacts with those red lines, I assume less 'malice' and more 'natural "fear and reacting for protection"' :I
And the familiar writing style doesn't help that! :P It's all what I've loved back again!

Have I said that your technique is very smooth and pleasing, and also comes off as adorable, EL?
I just noticed the new addition of x eyes. :P

Thanks, that's better.  :)

Back off facing it, by the way :P
+1 to the idea however. We've to tame it nicely.

I would ask why fire can burn two men to death without getting hot enough to burn a book, but then I read "INEXTINGUISHABLE RUNNING KAMIKAZE RADIOACTIVE FLAMING ZOMBIE" and realized that logic, reason, and physics are all occupied with crying in the corner right now.

Turn 12

You back away from the rhino to show it that you respect it's personal space.

The lightning rhino decides to shoot you with lightning anyway. Luckily your suit is mostly non-conductive but you are pretty sure you've got some burns now.

You fire some shots to show you have some lightning of your own. The shots glance off the rhino as you intended dealing what you think is minor damage.

The rhino tries to shoot another blast of electricity your way but plant guy delivers a savage blow that knocks the bolt off course.

Plant guy then brutally beats the rhino until it stops moving. You are pretty sure it is dead. From what you can remember plant guy's improvised club wasn't that tough so the rhino must be a fragile creature.

Looks like you have acquired some brand new corpses.

Give Bulb some affection and praise to show how proud you are of him taking down a big scary rhino by himself.

After that feed 1 of the crab corpses to the plant. WE SHALL HAVE ALL THE MINIONS!

This nostalgia :P Was somewhat thinking it would still shoot us with electricity anyway.
Yay for plant people!

+1 to all of the above in their respective order.

Butcher the rhino and one of the crabs first. Hey, who knows, we might learn something.
Then +1 to feeding the plant.

+1 to these.  Maybe prick ourselves on the plant while we feed it? Maybe we'll get hybrid minions.

Turn 13

You congratulate Bulb on his hard work with a gentle pat and some words of encouragement. Bulb looks at you and makes weird plant guy noises, some of them sound a little like words.

You drag the corpses away from the water with a little help from Bulb and try cutting them up with your survival knife to see if you can learn anything.

The crab seems very crablike. It has soft stringy flesh wrapped in an outer carapace. The carapace doesn't cover it's underside however. It looks like it moves similarly to an earth slug. Once broken open the crab's corpse smells sickly sweet.

The lightning rhino's skin looks similar to Bulb's just without all the foliage attached. It has something very similar to a skeleton with a spine and everything, the bones have a lot more give to them then earth bones though. Running down it's spine and into it's head are small nodules which are filled with something acidic. That might be how it makes it's lightning but you aren't nearly qualified to say.

The skull is severely damaged and some of the acid has gotten onto what looks like the creature's brain, seems like the cause of death.

Since the Mother Plant gave 'birth' to Bulb and seems to like eating you decide to give it some meat. While trying to figure out exactly how the plant's roots seep out of the ground and begin consuming the corpse. Bulb follows your lead with the crab corpse it's been holding.
