You hold off on bleeding all over the beach, partly because that would hurt and partly because to do that you'd have to take off your suit. Unless you want to keep cutting it and waste all that sealing gel, you aren't even sure how much of that the suit even has.

Maybe looking into this whole tent thing would be a better idea. You check out the weird tree thing. It's not much of a tree and probably can't support much of anything. You take out some of the tent bits and take a look.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

There are a lot of strong extendable poles and a strong feeling plastic textile of some kind. Looking at the vague instructions and what looks like pumping equipment it seems like the tent can be pressurized if put together correctly.

Speaking of air it seems like your suits tank currently has about 5 hours worth in it.

By setting up the oxygen extraction unit before we run out?
new plan: Take a peek up north, then pitch the tent Where it is right now should be alright. slightly further along the shore away from the tree.
EDIT- Just realised we probably shouldn't pitch right next to any of this vegetation.

Notice how a second plant started to grow from below a rock. Those things may be dangerous.

It's right where we were standing, too. Interesting...

I think we should examine the tree. How strong does it seem?
Afterwards,

+1, and keep an eye on that now-orange plant. Seems sketchy.

How hard would terraforming the local area with less shitty atmosphere be?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

It looks like the tree thing is made from, you don't know, some kind of weird slightly rubbery wood stuff. Terra-forming the local atmosphere would probably be impossible because of all this wind on the beach, even if the air was still it would be pretty dangerous. Perhaps if you could find some kind of cave or other airtight structure you could keep the air inside it breathable, you'd want to stay away from the entrance for long periods though. You pack the tent stuff up and go for a peek north.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The tree line starts for good bit further north but before that there is a fair amount of this beachy grassland. Some small animals are wandering around on the grass. They look pretty harmless, although you never really know when alien life is concerned.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

You head back and start setting up your tent. If it's closer to the beach it will be easier to get air since the oxygen extraction unit extracts oxygen from water judging by these instructions. Tides shouldn't be a problem either since you are pretty sure this planet has no moon. Of course you are closer to that plant thing, which pretty suspicious. You'll have to keep an eye on it.

Continue setting up tent, but first, check underneath that rock right beside it. You never know where the scary aliens might be hiding. Keep laser pistol handy.

Also, just as a wild guess, investigate those dark coloured lines on the sand. Rate on a scale from 1 to 10 your guess of the likelihood of them being tracks left behind by a creature that takes about 4 or 5 steps and then jumps like some sort of crazy athletic gazelle, before taking some more steps, jumping again, etc. Basically, are they animal tracks or just sand-texture?
