Recruited soldiers will, most of the time, never be Loyal. Don't count with finding Loyal soldiers in cities and towns.

That depends on whether or not you accomplish your first jobs. But you should be able to get more money before paying the upkeep.

Your search for an orcish settlement has anything to do with the change in retinue, micelus? (Also, mundane armor will be divided in the game in Light, Heavy and Full armor, for the sake of simplicity, and because Full armor is something rare and expensive, retinues can only start with Heavy armor at best).

Winston takes his holy book and, still wearing his blessed armor, goes to preach to the people. He firsts visits the guardhouse and has a short service with the men there. He blesses them each and wishes them well in the future. He then goes to the prison and spreads the words of his Gods to the damned and disheveled. Lastly he does to a mages academy and shares with them a few more controversial passages for gentlemanly academic discussion. When he is done with that, it should be time for him to return to Estur. If anyone needs his help, or he sees someone in need, he helps them.

If the rolls are good, this is going to be awesome for you. If they are terrible, you better pray (more).
