Confusions

I decided to give Adventurer mode another crack and find myself confused as to how to tackle bandits which roam in hamlets. When I ask the people of the hamlet what their troubles are and they speak of the bandits, I go and slay the bandits and then the civilians say I'm "unhinged" and I "perpetrated a violent attack upon Shibi Silencehermit", a bandit I killed minutes before who surrounded me with his gang of bandits and demanded me to yield.

Technically you can say they started it by attempting to shoot me with a blowdart.. but I was already planning on slaying them all anyways. So what is the "correct" thing to do? They tend to follow me around everywhere and it's quite annoying. Especially when they demand me to yield when I could easily bash their heads in and continue with my day.

I also don't understand how what I does affects the view on my character. What is "ok" to kill and what isn't? I was traveling and for some odd reason found a goblin hamlet ( didn't know that was a thing ). It seemed glitchy, one of the citizens saying "Welcome to PLACE:Gerasmirinde Boarhandled.  I'm TRANS_NAME].  Don't travel alone at night, or the bogeyman will get you.".  I doubt that TRANS_NAME is considered a valid name for someone. Anyways, they had mostly military units in the houses, which attacked me, so I promptly killed them, found the chieftess of the hamlet and killed her and the units around her. Will that go against me? I mean, goblins are considered "evil" creatures, does that make them OK to kill without repercussions even if they don't provoke me? They always run away when I pop in the top of a dark tower ( it's funny to see 50+ goblins run for their lives when you're just exploring ), some even try to attack me. I was tempted to go hunt every goblin down in the hamlet and execute them ( or at least the militia ) but I didn't know how that would affect me.

I also find it really hard to find a quest to complete without forgetting the details of it. The way they present the information is so confusing and I'm starting to find that I might as well start jotting stuff down. For example, when you ask about something it's like "The land of the giant hairpins is in Disney Land, go there if you want to kill Mickey the Mouse. He has killed 9001 in his quest for the most perfect hairpin." and I'm just like the who in the what is where? And then when I'm finally like "OK. I NEED TO GO TO HAIRPIN LAND??!?" and ask for the directions it's like "Oh, sorry. You're SOL. Better ask bob". THEN I have to be like "SO WHERE IS BOB"? and sometimes it's like "Bob is in The Wicked Axe the tavern, go to the most northeastern building you can find and shoot yourself because that's the wrong building", other times it's just like "Bob? Who's bob?". And THEN when you finally figure out where you need to go, some asshole ambushes you and once you've slain everyone, you forget what you're doing, who you're supposed to kill, where you're going, etc......... Is it just me or what? I wish they had a quest journal thing or something that logs down events you hear about and every time you collect data it's just like
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
and has other useful stuff, and was all neatly filed in a quests log which would clear whenever you complete the quest it clears it.

3 paragraphs later and you're still here? Wow. Anyways, I don't know if it's just me or not but I'd love some feedback. I probably have other questions. But I've forgotten them.

Edit: Also, how do you stack items which are exactly the same?
Ex: 5 mickey mouse copper coins
3 mickey mouse copper coins
The game doesn't automatically stack them in my inventory, how do I do it?

Killing civilized people in general earns you a reputation as being violent. This reputation alone doesn't matter much as it stands, simply recognizing you as a killer. Kill as many bandits as you please.

Killing night creatures, notorious wild animals, titans, FBs, and megabeasts (Dragons, hydras and the like) will earn you reputation as a hero amongst all civilized peoples. Or, it should.

Killing people in a civilization earns you a local reputation as a murderer. Whether or not this will make people hate you depends upon the civilization's ethics, but in most cases makes people hate you. Being hated amongst the people of a civilization will make people call you out for your actions and refuse to converse politely. If you try to greet them, they'll spit at you and refuse conversation. Any form of conversation at this point must be carried out bluntly (with the bypass greeting option). Only members of the goblin civilization you attacked will really care about your rampages, but they're automatically hostile to you anyways.

I'm not exactly sure, but I think defating a civilization or group's enemies earns you a positive reputation in general.

People will call you out on all of your reputations regardless, so even if you are a great hero, people will still label you as an unhinged killer.

People only form their opinions of you if they know what you've done. If you kill a night creature in it's lair with no witnesses (any companions you have along for the ride included) and never tell anyone, they will never think of you as more of a hero.

To sum it up: the things that are okay to kill include monsters, criminals and members of civilizations you don't care about.

You can't stack items, unfortunately. It's simply not a feature yet.

The goblins took over the hamlet and drove humans away. Now that you killed the cheiftess maybe the humans will like you, but probably won't return.
You can press shift+Q and a big map will open and you will be able to see where you're heading.

Bleh, Adv. mode feels a little broken. I was hunting a vampire and finally found him, the "lawgiver". I tried talking to them but the option to speak with them was simply missing, ( when trying to speak directly to them and when shouting to everyone they didn't respond ). So I went to another room and found a maceman and got them to join me and slept for 9 hours. I then went to the person and was finally able to speak to them and accused them of being a night creature and beheaded them, just to have my newly recruited maceman attack me after the night creature admitted to being a vampire. I then luckily got them to cease hostilities and got spat at. I recruited them, and got spat at again and continued on my way... So yea.. Also, when I attempt to bring up specific rumors, it seems to have stopped listing things after the first few days of my adventure, despite the events showing up in the Shift+Q log ( under events ). So I can't go bragging about how I slew a hill titan and took down a vampire. I guess I'll just have to tell everyone about how I slew the armadillo boar that attacked me in the frightful jungles.

It was also ironic that the vampire was using a silver slicing knife as a weapon.

Regarding vampires, it seems that if you expose a vampire in the most recent versions (for some reason it didn't happen to me in 40.19 IIRC) people around them just don't care. Even the vampire doesn't, they just spit on you and say they hate you but don't attack.
Honestly if you're looking to find fame in Adv mode right now it's not really possible. The only way I know works for sure is saving prisoners from evil civs. You can kill 100 titans, 200 more forgotten beasts and some megabeasts but only thing I noticed it doing is simply causing everyone nearby to spam "It was inevitable", and you have to report every single kill as well.
