[Mary]
[2] Mary looks around the forest clearing, and is disappointed to see no small stones anywhere that she could use for cutting. Perhaps she'd have better luck on the rocky outcrops surrounding the small forest. The fruit she missed is still on the ground in front of her. It's evidently not going to run away. In the meantime, the crabs seem to have encountered another creature: a small light yellow blur drops from a tree and lands on top of one of the smaller crab-things. As it is no longer moving, Mary is able to get a better look at it. It is a creature of complete symmetry, sporting five evenly distributed legs, and in the center, a large beak-like object. The creature then rapidly extends and retracts it's legs, slamming it's beak into the crab's shell. The crab desperately starts to sprint (rather slowly) towards a small hole in the ground, but it is too late. The creature's beak breaks through the shell and enters the (minimal) brain of the crab, ending it's struggling. The creature then grabs its prey with two legs and slowly drags it over to the tree trunk, where it begins to feast through the hole.
[Alan]
[1] As Alan turns to search for water, his old age catches up to him and he stumbles. The Glasswater fruit comes loose of his grasp and shatters upon contact of a root. All of the liquids contained inside it immediately begin to seep into the forest floor.
[Eric]
[5] Eric discovers a small patch of stones underneath a root, and fishes around until he finds two of his liking. He quickly knaps away at the stone until he has a small handaxe. However, the other person who was earlier searching for a stone seems completely enamored in what appears to be a fight between a crab and another, peculiar creature.
[Julia]
[3] Julia is able to locate a stick and finds the same small patch of stones Eric located, but cannot see any vines. Perhaps some stalks, or some plant fiber, would work better. Shrugging, he sets to work creating the hand-axe, and gets halfway done.
[Rob]
[4] Rob walks over to a large clump of what appears to be leaves growing out of the ground. He plucks a few, and turns back to the crabs. However, as he watches, something peculiar happens: a small light yellow blur drops from a tree and lands on top of one of the smaller crab-things. As it is no longer moving, Rob is able to get a better look at it. Rob decides that the creature has sated its hunger for now and will not be a threat to him, so he approaches one of the crabs and places the leaf in front of it. The crab moves over top, making a few small holes in the leaf, but leaves the majority of it untouched. {5} Rob realizes that the creature was making puncture points to suck water out of the leaf, as the leaf now looks drier and flatter than it did before. Rob tries to pet the crab, but it is simply too dumb, and it flattens itself to the ground, absorbing its legs back into its shell.
