Give the fleshball a mouth and basic esophagus, rigging them to that it goes towards the still-intact frog stomach inside of it. Have the fleshball eat some mushroom, with the aim of it getting larger. Maybe reroute the intestines through the stomach another time or two to make sure it gets digested fully.

(The fleshball can only eat dead flesh to get bigger, you can do this, but it will waste some bits and won't make it bigger).

Is it just the entire mushrooms don't mancy? Or do the insides mancy? Lets use one of those spikes to stab a hole in one and try mancying the innards. Afterall, the outside could just be dead.

You check to make sure the inside doesn't mancy. It doesn't. These trees aren't alive enough to mancy. Now what?

So does that mean the trees are dead? Any idea what killed them?

They are still alive, as far as mushrooms go. However, it seems as if they are either not alive enough or simply immune to fleshmancy. You ponder this for a moment and come to the conclusion that there is simply no way to tell why the mushroom trees can't be mancied.

Perhaps they're flat out immune to magic. Take a sample. If we encounter another mage that doesn't fleshmance, be nice to have them test that.

Looks for insects. . . . .  Yes. Lots of dead insects on the. . . . Wait, there is nothing in the forest. . .  Thats a bad sign. Look for the yellow trees!

The Pilot and their cargo handlers paused when they saw that the entire camp is covered in eldritch runes coated in blood. And rotting monkey corpses everywhere..

They decide that they didn't get paid enough for this..

You find some yellow trees and a few flies. You take a section of purple mushroom and put it in the Binderloinbag you then take the Binderloinbag and mage it into a Toadaloinbag. You attatch the toadaloinbag to Binderloin and continue onwards. There should be animals around. Where are all the animals?

You catch a fly. But where are all the other flies? And what is that loud buzzing noise?

Look up, down, left, and right. Look to see if a bug has landed on us.

You look all around. Huh. The buzzing stopped. Your big scary trog muscles and tight shorts must have scared whatever it was off. Dumb bugs, don't they know that you're the scariest thing in here?

For some reason you feel the desire to sprint. Its not like you're scared or anything like that, you just felt like taking a very fast stroll all of a sudden. You deadsprint briskly walk until you can't run anymore. There is a still blue lake ahead of you. The mushroom forest is behind you somewhere. What now?
