What bits of the not-canon story did you like, hate, wish different etc?

The only complaint I can think of right now is how confusing it was on the transistion between training to actual combat.

I didn't understand at first that the enemy vehicle was real, although I got that pretty quickly afterwards.

Wears an antique set of Insect Dissection monocle lenses. Is usually barefoot. Genius, IQ rated at 137 at the age of 15. Invented Serum A42 in a lab accident at Illinois State. Immediately went to the Military. Currently the only person certified in its administration

Serum A42

Time from Bloodstream until effect: roughly 10 seconds.

Creator: Reginald “Frazz” Goldman Jr.


Note: A42 does not increase movement or action speed. Rather, it allows for instantaneous decision making as well as extreme reflexes. However, during administration subjects do tend to act at their maximum capacity in terms of strength, speed etc.


10 ML (Recommended Dose)
Duration: ~15 seconds to Subject, ~5 real time.
Effect: All speeds of objects (As perceived by subject) are reduced by a factor of one half. Thrown objects can be caught extremely easily, and shot mid air with decent skill. Melee combat is extremely predictable, with subject being to evade opponents blows with ease. Compared to “Being Underwater” Firearms with semi automatic function well at this level, jamming only occurring 5% of the time. 
Side-Effect: ~5 seconds of loss of balance and spatial awareness following Duration. Prolongs if under influence of additional trauma (Noise, Force applied)

20 ML (Pending Approval)
Duration: 30 seconds to Subject, 10 real time.
Effect: Speeds reduced to ⅓ of original to Subjects view. Low Velocity Bullets visible, traveling at slightly above  the speed of a professional baseball pitch. Dodging not recommended,with only a 7% success rate. Thrown objects are extremely easy to shoot. Subjects gains increased strength in addition to cognitive processing, in one instance capable of stopping a 500 pound charging bull in its tracks.(Note: This caused the Subject to experience extreme muscular degradation, 10x the normal amount) Melee combat met with 95% success rate against human opponents. Disarming attackers extremely easy. Semiautomatic firearms have a roughly 50% jam percentage. Usage Unadvised.
Side-Effect: ~10 seconds of visual distortion and spatial awareness failure in subjects within completely isolated rooms. Muscular structure damaged, with subjects losing ~10 pounds of lifting capability for a span of 24 hours.

30 ML (Usage results in temporary removal of Military and Medical Status)
Duration: 1 Minute real time, Unknown to subject.
Effect: Subject experiences unknown reduction of time. Subjects capable of dodging most conventional firearms with a 85% success rate. Subjects can disarm, incapacitate and kill a fully armed military personnel in less than 4 seconds.
Side-Effects: Subject is rendered into a catatonic state for the duration of 30 minutes following effects end.

I'm rather iffy on the nearly nonexistent side effects. Same with the "able to incapacitate a trained military personal" bit. You do realize just how much training people go through in the military right?

Still though, I still feel like there should be more drawbacks to using the serum. And while it could increase the perception of time and decision-awareness, it shouldn't allow an increase in skill to do something. Doing a simple action such as shooting 3 times more than usual at the same accuracy as a single shot? Sure. Rapid stab/slash with a knife/sword and increased chance to parry? no problem! a little help in dodging? why not.

But it definitely should be more effective to people who actually know how to do it.

Dude, what this drug does is allow you to process info at a amazing speed. This means that you are aware of pretty much your entire opponents armor, weapons, and skills while you are walking towards him. Im not saying that EVERYONE can do it, but most likely the test subjects are either A. Volunteer Soldiers or B. Death row inmates who don't have much to lose

Well it would. IF you inject someone who density know whats going on, they'd be like WTF? and just stand their shell shocked. If you are prepared and ready, you can fully use the drug.
