Of course, some makeshift vehicles built by some bored people who happens to know how to weld and have access to some scrap metal is not going to hold a candle when compared to the professionally designed vehicles produced by precision tools and equipment inside large prestigeous factories with expensive alloys for strength, durability and lightness. The kind that any Military would be happy to have. Or anyone, for that matter.

You get what you pay for, after all. And if you pay for some college students to build you a car/helicopter using scraps you've brought, then you're going to get a car/helicopter build from scraps by college students.

I'm not saying that it's a good or a bad Idea, I'm just saying that it's possible.

You're not very likely to survive an encounter, though. All it needs is one of the many, many possible things to go wrong.
And there was this Murphy guy who said something things going wrong...

Fine. But can i at least weld large metal spikes all over the superbly designed vehicles? And name it "Krunchez"?

If your squad owns the vehicle, sure. The company doesn't care for a little personalization.

They might want you to remove the spikes after the mission if it's a vehicle they let you barrow, though.

The team's money will not be used to pay for joyride vehicles or unarmored airborn vehicles. Tal won't count casualties caused from using said machines as team casualties either.

And to add to that, Jon is not going to treat injuries that happened due to stupidity. He'll just let natural selection do what it does.

I know i know. I womt do anything stupid, per se. Im just doing logical things in the least conventional and most badass that i can WITHOUT impeding the odds of victory!

For the next mission, I'm going to put down a chair, get a tub of Popcorn and say 'dis gunna be gud' in the most GM way possible.

Tal isn't gonna let you install spikes on any of the vehicles. Vehicles are not battering rams. Safety hazards that can stab you in the calf if you aren't careful getting out are not permitted.

Then a couple spines will not slow them down and we'll have bigger things to worry about. Namely the lack of the vehicle being able to move. They aren't gonna be boarding if the vehicle can move.
