What did you trade the racials for originally if you don't mind me asking?

You could put the 1 stat point you are missing into Will, which will help with Arcanism.

Ye can increase his Arcanism with 4xp. Any arcane skill is 4xp per rank yes.

After rechecking things, it turns out that Knives were merged into the renamed Swords skill of Bladed. Upgrade your existing Knives skill to Bladed. If you keep the racial skills, you could buy Bladed at 2xp per rank.

Correct, Knives were 1xp a pop. It is to my understanding that all current Knife ranks are upgraded to Bladed. Which probably means that Vigil became a much better swordsman now. I'll double check what we are doing about that to be sure though.

Since Khaiden's only proficient in knives and blades like them and it fits his character and background, can his be grandfathered in?

His rank of knives is converted to Blades to my knowledge, which is what I think I have been saying, unless you mean something else.
