Throw them a .45 bullet. A normal one. See what happens. And take a look on translator progress.

And I guess I could try to wake up the gnolls I shocked in the meantime. And then shoo them away to the other ones.

The few Gnolls that were nearby to the thrown .45 bullet runs away for a little before turning around to yip at you some more.

The Translator pings a sit finishes translating, the yipping and yelping became "Out!"
"Out much now!"

"Such out!"

"Away! Out!"

"Come on, they're barely even ten centimeters off the ground, and I'm not even hurting them as opposed to, say, hitting them with a taser?" Zach moved the gnolls away from Jon and the Vulcan.

The Gnolls flail in the air, yipping "Scared!" "Fly! Much scare!"

"Oh good they're walking talking memes, Jesus Christ."

Seeing that they seem to be mostly harmless, Zander will approach as well and pull out some jerky out his suit and as he speaks through the translator.

"Hey we mean you no harm, we're sorry we scared you just calm down we'd like to talk."

"Heh, they might just be overly exited... but now we can speak, so perhaps calmness can prevail."

"Finally, it's working. Much good. We're here to talk. We intend to do no harm. Well, no lasting harm."

"We would like to hire your entire village. Employee benefits include a vastly improved quality of life, monthly wages and more. It's a win-win situation for all of us."

"Oh, and did I mention the hot running water? We have that too."

Aria arrives to see Vigil making a concerted effort to deal with the menace that is... trees. "What's going on?" she asks. She'd expected something... more dangerous? To be going on, but no threat was apparent.

The tree that Vigil had been punching for the last 5 minutes lacked much of its leaves and was seriously caved in, though due to the sheer thickness of its trunk, it barely was able to remain standing. It looked like it could topple at any moment, though, with just two or three more punches. All over the wood floor, though, the signs of epic battle against the leafy menace. Dozens layer fallen, some far from where their blasted trunk was, originally. His fist showed no such signs, though.

"Trying. . . Blow-off. . . . Frustration." His eyes betrayed the breathy, and tired act he was trying to put on. They looked a mix between furious and annoyed, with small hint of creeping depression.

"Well, I have to admit that punching trees is a better way than punching people." Aria says, taking a seat on a nearby stump.

Shit... I'm no good at damn therapy... she thinks. I'll wait for him to bring it down or talk to me, whichever comes first. Doesn't seem like he'll talk about it until then.

"Punching. . . Helps. . . "
He turned around to punch the offending wood again before his clenched fist, just froze there. Was that a sniffle? He lifted his fist and. . . . Lowered it.
Its more useful than sitting around doing nothing."

"Whoa.

...Favor?  What's that...?

...The books are a mind?

That's really cool.

Hm..."

Fel starts musing on possible uses, and possible abuses, of this.  Spying, for instance, or figuring out all those cold cases from who knows when, or perfect situational awareness...Revisiting old memories...

"I suppose you can probably hear me thinking anyway, but...Literally everything is in here?  Wow.  That's one heck of a security breach for literally everybody.

Umm.

Hmm."

Fel sends a Very Urgent Message to Tal.

>So I found someone who's writing Everything down.  What do we have that we could offer her?  I don't actually know if she has a gender...but let's stick with her.  Unless she asks otherwise.

Fel has a silly thought about hiring out historical re-enactors.

"Ah, I presume you caught all that, but for Cheshire's benefit...Can we hire you or convince you to work with us or some such similar thing somehow?"
"Volume lacks access to Minds as a choice of me and mine Cousin. Best to not drive readers insane."

"Favor means a Being of a certain level of Potential has granted you a piece of their Power. Normally Favor is limited to Creation's Divines and Daemons for accumulation and distribution. Nulls like us however do not follow the rules of Creation. I am aware of your relative youth of knowledge compared to Age."

"You can offer me and mine Nothing. Volume is not for sale and nor are my services Cousin, I write, I am disinterested in participating in a war effort, Volume exists to Record and does such quite fine from here. However there is a copy in the Library should you wish to Read in the future."

"If you must assign a gender, female will suffice. I don't actually know what parts are down there. Or if there are any. I cannot find my butt."

>You realize that text messaging in the void probably doesn't work as well as one would hope. With the whole. Lack of satellites or transmission towers thing.

"I see."

Fel giggles when Valirae mentions the the problem of figuring out which pronouns to use.

Fel cancels the message, having somehow forgotten to pull the trick with the rifts.

"The Library?  Which?"

What kinds of people? What metals for the statue? Specifics for that.

Frazz's exo is already somewhat shiny. Does he have any specific colors he wants it in?

To the Library!

Cheshire gives Valirae a goodbye before following.

The two of you return to the Path and begin walking. The clocktower grows smaller in the distance. Nearly vanishing over the horizo-

Suddenly you are directly in front of the Derelict Clocktower. Well that's fucky.

The two of you presumably enter for the sake of expediency. The first room appears to be a reading room. A small white cat darts under a table as you enter. Through a set of glass doors, you can see a sea of book cases. Extending off into the horizon. The Library is Quiet. Small feline noises occasionally echo from within the Book Sea.

What do?
