Laz gets to his feet, ears still ringing lightly. He uses his magic to put a stop to that.

"Duely noted Maximus. Duely noted."

He then turns to Jon

"That would be me. I'm Laz. Also Fel, I'm fine now. You can stop."

Fel seems reluctant to stop, but will if protests continue.

"Name's Jonathan. Just call me Jon. I'm not sure why they thought that sending us a new hire was a good idea, so have a word of advice - avoid dying. For various reasons."

He punctuates his last sentence with a cutting motion of his scalpel.

"I'm not quite sure why they sent me here either, but here I am. And it seems rather obvious to avoid death. Is there a specific reason you chose to bring it up?"

"Having to resurrect someone is rather annoying to do, I'm guessing. That, and there's always the possibility it won't work."

Jon grins and points his scalpel at Laz for a moment before putting it away.

"And there's also the fact you'll effectively be giving whatever is left of your body to research. Which means that I'll get to take a look at your insides."

Laz, while visibly uncomfortable, allows Fel to continue.

"I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that you people can resurrect people. Although, if I am damaged do badly that a new body must be created, I don't see why I would suffer from you studying the body."

"Oh? Most people don't approve of others poking around inside of them for fun and profit. I have a feeling that we're going to be friends, new guy."

"Well, I see it this way," Laz creates two small figures about 15 cm tall, one in each hand. The one in the right has a red glow coming from within the other does not. "The soul resides in this body, so it is mine. I would retaliate at an attempt to meddle with it. However, if I were to die," The red figure is decapitated, and falls on his back. "During your resurrection ritual, my soul is transferred to a new body." Tge red glow transfers to the figure on the left. "Now, I reside in this body. I have no ties left with the old one." The right figure disappears. "I no longer care what happens to it. It is merely an empty shell. The only thing that truly matters is the soul. And, yes, I hope we will be good friends."

Laz, seeing how disappointed Fel is, gives her a scratch on the head.

Vigil will nod and go off to find an intern to fulfill the roll of eyes in the skies, while he takes Wark to do her business and find a good meal. It would also do her some good to get away from Me. Apparently she didn't like him so much. Or trust him.

The Pilot and their cargo handlers paused when they saw that the entire camp is covered in eldritch runes coated in blood. And rotting monkey corpses everywhere..

They decide that they didn't get paid enough for this..

"By the way, new guy... I never had a chance to operate on a non-human. I'll probably have to improvise on you at first. So don't be surprised if I spend a while poking around inside you, should you get injured. Might even have to hold back on anesthetics, since your biology is different."

"I see. I'll attempt to dull my screams for you if such a thing occurs. " Laz says with a small grin.

Jon chuckles. "Oh, no need to stifle your screams. I can just temporarily disable my hearing if I don't like them."
