"I see. If we were to make these talismans, what kind of illusion would you like to have? Puff of smoke, explosion, burst of light?"

"All of those would be distracting to the user and frankly, we have tech for those that does it better. Think more on the lines of perception diverting or transposing the image of the user three feet to the left."

Frazz asks Alex exactly how he learned his powers.

The aged dragon says that through a lot of time and patience. Some things just comes naturally to a dragon. Or sometimes you might just yawn a strange word and that accidentally casted a spell or something.

Magic is fucky. Dragon magic is no exception.

"Ah, of course. Although, if the enemy thought that one of our devices had blown up in our face, them might overextend themselves thinking we were exposed. Could be used for tactical purposes such as that."

Maximus holds up a flashbang canister. "Want me to demonstrate?"

"Very well. If you wish to make the talismans, simply let me know, and I will do my best."

Laz turns to Maximus

"Demonstrate what, comrade?"

The pseudo-roman holds the canister up for the new elf to see while Ichabod wisely flees the room.

"This here is what we call a 'Flashbang'. A Non-Lethal, entirely non-magical hand grenade. go ahead and sense for it yourself, no magic. It's just pure, simple chemistry, inside this thing is a mix of magnesium, aluminium and potassium nitrate. It works on a 5 seconds delay timer after activation." He then presses a button on the canister, arming it and it begins to beep.

"This babies are made in the hundreds, and the reason why we don't need no flashy magical lightshows." Maximus continued to explain before he dropped the canister.

Before the new elf can ask anything more, his world EXPLODED into confusion in a flash of such intense light that it feel like you're looking directly at the sun despite your eyes being shut right, your head is ringing painfully from an explosive noise so loud that it feels like your ears are going to bleed,

It hurts so fucking bad and the next thing you know you're curled on the floor screaming and writhing for the amusement of these cruel, cruel people.

The disorientation lasted several minutes, but soon enough Laz would recover as if he was never harmed at all!

Such amazing and concerning weapons!

"And that demonstrates the importance of wearing your helmet." Maximus noted.

Being done with trying out flying for now, Jon walks into the room. He's toying with his scalpel.

"I heard we got an elf?"
