Aria also stays with the group.

The group marches inwards!

A. Carmine pulls the Vehicles away to make do a round trip around the Keep as planned while you all approaches and enters the Keep.
Maximus being the largest and have the closest combat weapon, he takes point with his shotgun, clearing a corner while Vigil clears the other corner with his SMG.

Tal and Arthur followed up next, entering the room in a well-practiced formation with Aria staying in the back with her LMR to provide covering fire if needed.

As you've planned, you checked the ceilings and did a full spectrum scan of the first room, and while it's definitely warmer than the outside, there are no heat signatures clinging to the ceiling as you have feared. X-Ray and Infrared shows only cold stone as well.

This first room's difference to the other castles became instantly noticeable, Not only that there's no light sources in here, there also appears to be very much nothing in here as well save for the slightly damaged stairs leading up and the gate that you've blown inside. Just dull, cold stones. No inscriptions, no statues, no decorations, nothing.

"Room looks clear." Maximus said, his shotgun still raised.

Any shallow walls? Small holes for things to crawl through? Or is the only thing stairs? Are there any doors? Run a hand along the wall, is it really just stone?

The only holes you see are the ones your bullets made. The only door is the one laying against the stairs that your Gauss blasted inside, hinges and all. Although there appears to be a door at the top of the stairs, like a hatch.

The stone feels dusty and warm, more like stones that's been basking in the sun in the summer than where it is currently.

"Stones are abnormally warm." Tal checks if the crumbled stone shards from the stairs are also warm. If so, he grabs a piece as a sample.

The crumbled stone shards from the stairs are also warm! you pocketed a sample. The possibilities of utilizing these are endless!

"Welp. Apparently nothing else is in here. Stone'll be worth quite a bit methinks. Can't detect any traps near the stair hatch. Who wants to check the hatch?"

"We could assault breach it?" Maximus suggests.

You hear some distinctive coughs as your vehicle's Bushmaster fired a burst at something outside. The walls on the far end crumbles and shatters as the 25mm impacted it and disintegrate into tiny shrapnel and rocks, it's far away enough from you to not prove a significant threat but if it had been behind you, things would not be pretty.

Tal pings to see if the radio is still working through the wall. "Testing to see if this is working. You targeting Imps out there?"

"As for breaching, Vigil can pick locks according to his file."

"I don't like the feeling of this"

Prepare rifle to shoot whatever was distracting our sniper.

The Comms seems to be working just fine. "Hearing you loud and clear." B. Carmine said, before adding "Yeah, there's still some imps in the back, we've decided to take care of them. So far I'm not seeing anything else outside, we'll bring the car to the front again and wait for you guys there."

"Was it necessary to jinx it?"
"Do you really think me not saying it would suddenly make whatever was attacking our friends disapear? That's not how it works. Anyways, onwards to the keep! Ok nevermind, climb the stairs, or keep going forward?"

Do what Kevak says.
