Zach's seeing some good numbers.. though he wasn't really trained to be a Sniper's spotter. But 'That big thing over there.' is a good target as any.
The sprinting land infantry and cavalry are approaching the first line. Seeing this on the Romes, artillery operators pulled the trigger. "FIR-" the end was lost in a rolling thunders of field artillery roaring to the heavens as it sent deadly munition sailing into the air, the recoil ejecting the spent shell out only for a new one to be loaded in while they make some adjustments to the sight.
"FIR-" came a second barrage of thunders that sent drumbeats vibrating through all of your bodies as the awesome power of artillery made Aria's Gauss Rifle look like regular rifle. Dust and smoke were kicked up and blasted apart with each powerful blast that's angled so that they all land roughly at the same time along the invisible line that the sprinting abominations are approaching.
"Impact in Five!... Four!.."

The experience was like nothing before. One moment they were charging up at an enemy camp in the far distance, their Overlord having told them to do so, then there was several distance roar of a strange beast. Several time it roared to the heavens as if making a challenge to them in a war cry. They thought it was useless, for how can mere mortals hope to stand against the full might of the Army?
Then the world exploded. Ground erupted from beneath their feet as invisible fists of gods fell upon them from the sky, their steady formations and ranks were obliterated within a short blink of an eye. Raptors and their riders alike laid crippled upon the ground mewling in pain like helpless spawnlings. Ragoth the Lord Horror Knight were at the head of the cavalry, where is he now? ah, there he is. His broken body laid smashed into the ground, his majestic mount no more than a memory and bits of flesh and gore.
What.. what the hell happened? hundreds of footsoldiers were dead or dying before the battle even began! just who the hell are they fighting this time? what cruel, powerful entity would bring such a deceptively small army to the battle only to smush them like bugs?
The soldier rolled onto his back now, feeling so very tired. He couldn't feel his legs anymore. His shield and sword were probably somewhere nearby.
Maybe.. Maybe perhaps the fliers will have a chance? he thought to himself. Just in time to see several great column of smoke flying into the gathered fliers and formed many, many suns that burned his eyes.. to be fair, it was nothing compared to what it's doing to the fliers, though..
so tired now...

"Impact registered, first line bombardment successful! Adjusting for second line!" The artillery operators yelled reports at each others as the Drone operators yelled at each others near by. "First proximity missile barrage hit! The fliers are scattering apart now!"
The few shells and missiles that impacted the large heat signature causes it's invisibility to fail, revealing a large.. flying monster with metalic exoskeletons. It have many.. many holes along it's body and seems to be trailing behind a foreboding bluish smoke. It's roar of pain and anger is absolutely terrifying.
