((I never said that I'm trying it out on a teammate. I'm trying it out on a teammate's knife (which is easily replaceable, I might add). And I'm getting an intern to test the blade out. I'm not going to carve runes on my squad without getting a few levels in magic first.))

((You were originally going to do it on a teammates beloved possession, which isn't replaceable. I'm struggling to understand why the focus is on using a teammember's item when again, could just print one off from a printer.))

((Which ICly it makes sense to test first on an intern and an unaffiliated weapon before ICly going to upgrade the teammate. OOCly it also makes sense to test first cause OOCly he nearly lost a character to the rune.))

((I admit that trying to use Vigil's sword wasn't that great of an idea. But I don't want to use a printed item for the sake of expediency. If the result is usable, then there's no need to do another ritual and Dex gets an upgrade. If it doesn't work - I just replace the knife  with my old one and wait till I get some more xp. It makes sense to me. I don't see much in the way of downsides.))
