With Aria off to get food and relief for herself, Zachary was able to get a hold on the other of the Foxhound's computer that Aria was using to play Half Life 3.

Company Internet is stupidly fast and within moments, he find himself playing the latest Ace Combat as hoped.

For the last bit of the day, Vigil would train his dodging and speed, doing runs, forcing himself to run a five minute mile, four times in a row. Each time he failed, he would start over, until, finally, out of energy, and having worked on nothing but a carb full breakfast, he passed out on running track, shooting away, loudly.

The Pilot and their cargo handlers paused when they saw that the entire camp is covered in eldritch runes coated in blood. And rotting monkey corpses everywhere..

They decide that they didn't get paid enough for this..

Things have been progressing rather well, all things considered. Zachery was getting to know the squad a bit more, Vigil trained to exhaustion pretty much daily, each time allowing him to go on longer than the last, nothing seems amiss for Foxhound.

Even better, the Artifacts that they've recovered were quite revolutionizing! The sun-orb thing extracted from the slain dragon was in essence, a very small, portable and an effective enough bio-fusion generator. The amount of power produced from such a thing is crazy compared to it's size, and this opens up a whole new world of possibilities after the boys down in R&D Mapped how the thing work and planned to create an even more miniature version of it. For now they've successfully replicate the thing and are already suggesting the higher ups to have an auxiliary power room built and have the thing installed to make the company independent from outside source of energy.

They, of course, have also weaponized it. Currently there's a working prototype down in the R&D Lab, and it's made several scientists squeal as many dreams are coming to realization.

They've created an actual, possibly conventional laser gun that is portable by a single average human and doesn't require to be on a very large truck or on a naval ship to have generators large enough to produce the energy it needed. Granted it comes with a backpack that houses one of the new miniature fusion generators, connected to heavy duty electrical wiring tube to the actual piece of the weapon itself that's a bit too square, bulky and heavy due to all the focusing lens and computer stuff that allowed to convert the immense energy output into a powerful visible beam of light. Initial tests seems promising, despite the weapon being prone to overheating and it could probably vent heat better if it's design are remastered. But as a proof of concept, it works. They haven't figured the effective range of the weapon yet, but it's theorized that it could be just about as far as the scope can see as long as the atmosphere is not very foggy and you have a clear line of sight to the target, since lasers doesn't have bullet drops and the discharge made about as much recoil as a pistol.

There are also plans to enlarge drones and making more efficient designs now that batteries of the same size could output more power by several magnitudes.

But of course, it IS a fusion reactor, and if heavily damaged, it will go very, Very bad for anyone in the immediate surrounding area. Some are joking that you could probably use it as an impromptu nuclear warhead if things go bad enough. Safeties are still being figured out as they're studying on the subject hard.

The new prototype weapon is pretty much as linked, except connected to a large ghost-busters style backpack. 'I ain't afraid of no ghosts' were uttered a great many times in the lab.

Of course, Twin is neither man nor woman but an unholy eldritch abomination like every other Bay12er. The difference is they hide it better.

"I think we should consider heavier armor with more coverage for when things like these happen. Some pauldron would definitely help protect someone shooting out of a car." Maximus added, still a little bitter about his injuries. But at least he didn't need his penis regrown.

The rest of the Foxhound squad is gathered there, for ease of editing.

"I feel like you could have changed the wording a bit for my attempt to save Zander. Something like 'Arthur tried to save Zander by blowing up the artifact, he underestimated the size of a grenade explosion and was caught in it' Rather than 'Arthur decided to blow himself up, this saved Zander somehow'

It seems like someone wheeled Arthur's chair/bed into a more convenient position. Who is this mysterious benefactor?

"To be entirely honest. That's what it looked like from an observer's perspective. You went up to the sphere with an active grenade. Smacked the sphere with said grenade. And then blew your nards off."

Zachary has paused Ace Combat and is still in the chair, wincing as what happened to Arthur was mentioned. "When it comes to asking about vehicles for the next mission could you ask them about a helicopter gunship big enough to transport us? Like one of those Hinds from old Russia?"
After a pause he asks, "And is there any way to know the terrain before we go in through the gate? Like a forward team?"
Another pause, "And are we allowed to sabotage or steal opposing company's equipment?"

"We send recon drones weeks to months in advance before sending a team in. We go in fully aware of the structure we're raiding."

"If they think we need a chopper we get a chopper."

"We've been told we can loot whatever we please from deceased opposing operatives. This includes vehicular assets. Last mission the opposing operatives vehicles were trashed by Subdenizen 001, so we salvaged them for scrap. We've also been told to terminate them when encountered. Capturing only when it's convenient."

"So theoretically we could kill another company's team and steal any... aerial assets... they have?"
