Ah.

I have a feeling that if the captain doesn't put down the idiot ball shortly, problems will arise.

He means that if the Captain keeps obsessing about shit not vital to our survival that there will be a mutiny when the soldiers realize the food isn't coming because the Captain decided it was less important than trying to get everyone killed by looking for aliens.

I can't do anything for the food, neither can some other people. May as well find some scrap or something. Better than sitting around not doing anything.

Right.

That's why I'm asking us to go to an asteroid belt. So we can get water and materials.

We'll probably try and make some more space suits when we get the chance, though.

We're also going to need food, though I'd hazard that's a lot easier.

But the thing is though, how are we going to get the minerals and water from the asteroids?

Space suits and tools.

So basically, manually, because we don't have much else to do.

I dunno...Food might be even harder, unless we can find a ship or set up hydroponics, or nutrient recyclers or something.

Also, does anyone else find it odd that not only do we have a gravity core,  but that life support uses more energy than it does?

I was thinking that if the alien had a little ship, and it survived, perhaps it could have whatever the alien was using to survive on it. It would have needed food and maybe water, so really the kind of things we would need, it may have. Or it might be nothing and I've gone crazy. Idk, I think it's worth a scan. Otherwise we're gonna have to find a planet. From a gameplay perspective, we need to get resources from somewhere, and another ship or a planet are really our only options. Asteroids will have water, but we need food.

This might be a little too off-topic, but kinds of food could survive for a thousand years? I know honey for sure and maybe soy sauce & alcohol. Or maybe some technology was developed on Earth to preserve food indefinitely.

We were also preserved for a thousand years. Pretty sure it's harder to keep people alive than it is to make some rations that last long.

We'll have to find a planet with life on it, then. And life that isn't extremely toxic to us, at that.

Unless, of course, there are backup seeds and we can recreate the hydroponics facility. Minerals/materials and water will be all we really need at that point.

It's possible that most of the long-lasting food was eaten by the alien. Just throwing that out there.
