I've not been on these forums in like, 5 years. Tonight, I randomly decided to check the DF forums to see if there were any interesting topics.
- Being a meat god in a temple of children

Thank you for this, I was worried that people had forgotten about this.

That's the point, it wouldn't be as fun to crush their souls if they didn't have souls to begin with.

I've made curses with other effects, such as permanent transformations into random creatures, but I have trouble tracking those and I can't vouch for their effectiveness.

They work, although they can get weird with historical figures.  I once discovered a kingdom that was ruled by a (non sapient) cursed carrot monster.  Nobody seemed to consider this strange.

There was also the time back in 34.11 when I made my brand of wizardry a deity curse(among other things, like were-wizards) just to make it as ubiquitous as possible. The result was an elf who desecrated a human temple only to become a wizard priest of that temple. As far as elves go, he was a pretty cool guy.

What I think would be cool, is having blessings from gods for being a devout priest of that god. I don't really know what the blessings would be, maybe a tame version of the were-beast that wouldn't make every one want to kill you and either transformation it more often or maybe to some extent being able to control when you transform. But besides that I can't think of any other blessing you could ask a god (that likes/adores you) to have.

Edit: Oh! also doing hero stuff in the name of [name of your god here] would be one way to get favor from [name of your god here again]!

Don't forget infanticide in a temple of children.
Letting the cat out of the bag in a temple of secrets.
Moping in a temple of partying.
Taking vengeance in a temple of forgiveness or mercy.
Hating in a temple of love.

And yeah, you can totally go full nutjob on deity curse interactions. You can even just curse them with a horrible plague. When deities can give blessings, we can go full nutjob there too.

Having gods 'bless' their followers in unusual ways is going to be one of my side projects. Currently I'm evaluating a transformation into creature that immediately evaporates/dies into a cloud of gas that does interesting things when inhaled. I don't think the game would track that during world gen, either now or in the next version, but like hell I won't throw that particular wad of science at the wall to see if it sticks.

Also:
- Loving the priests of a temple of hate
- Making love to the hate priests

Also also:
- Doing absolutely nothing mentioned thus far in a temple of depravity

-giving donations that rightfully belong to you to a temple of theft.
-hurting in a temple of healing
-being a prude in a temple of lust
-making love with the statues in any other temple.
-vandalising a temple of art.
-being ugly in a temple of beauty
-not suffering in a temple of torture

-Dumping water on the torches in a temple of fire.
-Putting dirt in the torches in a temple of fire.
-Burning down a temple of water.
-Burning a tree in a temple of life.
-Killing a monster in a temple of life.
-Dying in a temple of life.
-Using Kisat Dur in a temple of peace.
-Giving something away in a temple of merchants.

This is fun!
