Oh god, I hate drowning in traders. Can we get some screenshots of the fort after your turn?
We're closing in on the end of Autumn, will do.
So L.W. Can I get a Dwarf?
I shall also request a turn, and a dwarf called "Qu".
[starts drawing up plans for horrifying murderous megaproject]
The state of the farms, moss and breweries has been atrocious. Much has needed reform to be in compliance with regulation. The Fortress has been drinking itself silly on freshwater by the hand rather than alcohol by the barrel! This has to be changed!
So above and so below, potatoes, grapes, asparagus, cress leaves and a few other things shall be the staple of this Fortress from here on out in addition to a vast array of fish, meat and subterranean crops. Gatewealthy chefs are gaining world renown for their brilliantly crafted prepared meals.
Not all farming restructuring has been successful. It seems the horses were nourishing themselves on the moss. Ah well, more meat for the butchery.
Well at least our vast army of traders is useful for one thing.
Future overseers note well, importing alcohol, steel and gold will be more expensive, but this can easily be offset by increased demand in Gatewealthy food.
Interesting.
ALL HAIL LORDBRASSROAST, LORD OF GATEWEALTHY
I have not been able to do much in the way of creating the foundations for a massive gate. Hammerer LoudWhispers here has been most preoccupied with survival and welfare of the Fortress, though her distrust of nature has also meant the forests and mosses would be utterly annihilated. The aboveground walls have been climber-proofed, the military expanded by 1000% to also include a squad of trainee marksdwarves and the iron foundaries have been working nonstop to get all the Dwarves wielding the best iron - the first few batches of masterwork iron mail shirts have started rolling out. I was quite dismayed to see that plant stocks were dwindling and booze stocks were nonexistent - the Dwarves of Gatewealthy were stuck drinking from the brook, which was simply unacceptable. A well has been secured above the brook for emergencies but this is not a good state of affairs, so the distilleries have been increased in scope from 2 breweries to 8. Some temporary prisons have been set up, for the time being no one has incurred any infractions of the law to warrant a hammering.
