My first elven caravan had a horrible accident where my water pump activated after the drawbridge to the Depot closed... horrible...

Let's just say the next year was spent carving out stockpiles for all their cloth.

Elves... even in death they are a pain.

Elves caravans use muskoxen, which are nice and prolific breeders.  Last time, after they got pissy (I'm not sure why), I directed the caravan to a different door than usual, then tied them up in the pasture, next to their tamed pack animals.

So this brings me to a question.

I have all this cloth and schist and whatnot in the depot, left after the traders were killed or successful trades.

My dwarves seem to stop moving it after the trading stops, but graze in the food barrels.

I thought maybe I didn't have enough stockpiles, but the stockpiles sit empty until the next caravan arrives, and I have to beat the dwarves with my keyboard to bring items there to trade rather than focus on bringing items back.  Ultimately sometimes I trade for some needed stuff that doesn't make it out of the depot before they leave.

Has anyone else noticed this?

I also noticed that I can have a pile of bins and they will be left dusty until every last spot of a stockpile is full.  Then they might consider grabbing one.

I've even had bins moved into the furniture stockpile unused (I think)!

Has seizing changed from earlier versions?  I thought they didn't fight back, and just said "Okay, it's yours but we'll tell Dad" or whatever.
