The General Musing Thread
« on: August 02, 2015, 07:42:52 pm »

This sums it up:
'Things that made you go "Hmmmmm..." today.'

I don't know if this thread isn't already in some form being done, or if it has been done and has been a flop. Really, all it is is a thread in which the split second inspirations you have can be put down on the Forum-grade paper. If you have some logic that you've been mulling over, post it here. If you have some form of epiphany that is almost ineffable, you can effing try to put it here.

Only a small rule, really: Anything even slightly inflammatory, racist, sexist, or any shade of insulting is not permitted. You can muse about the racial impacts of blacks being inferior to whites, or women superior to men[/examples], on your own time.

Ectopic pregnancies are basically an abdominal version of chestbursters.

That said, this is pretty much a watch post.

General Musing

A mushroom and cheese omelette is fungus mixed with animal mammary secretions that have been allowed to mold, wrapped up in unfertilized bird embryos.

Human food is gross.

I think that's the first time I've ever been addressed as Celestia, by name. I'm ok with this.

Human food is still gross though. Mushroom cheese omelettes are about the worst of it, but a lot of the stuff we eat is mold, fungus, or waste excretions of small organisms. Cheese, alcohol, yogurt...all three are basically leftover toxic waste of microscopic organisms that have eaten the food and left what they couldn't digest in great big piles of waste that they reproduced in and died in.  It would be like putting a bunch of very small animals into a box full of food, letting them run around and breed and excrete in it for months until they all die buried in piles of their own filth and waste, and then we eat all of that together with their corpses. And bread is basically the same thing except we cook them alive before they manage to die of starvation smothered in their own filth.

Cheese is delicious though.

Eh, there are more bacterial cells in your body than human cells. Their excretions play a crucial part in your body chemistry - why not cooperate with a few more microorganisms and make some cheese?

General Musing:
Don't feel alone or unloved: Trillions of organisms are cuddling you from the inside every moment of every day! Many of them even have flagella. It's like baby furry creatures nuzzling you and giving you (internal) belly rubs!

Microbial waste products are glorious.

Also, if this is supposed to be another emotion/megathread, it should be titled 'Things that made you go "Hmmmmm..." today.'

I like the name as it is, though I'll add that alternative one at the top of the OP :P

General Musing: humans without civilization are often termed animals, so therefore animals with civilization could be termed human. (Despite the obvious fact that 'human' is a name given exclusively to our particular breed of animal.)
