How about we flee like the GM obviously wants us to do. It's just an introduction guys, no need to die already.
Logic makes me +1, but, I am not happy about it. I wanna fight.

Use our construction thing to make a ram for our ship, make sure to add engines to it!

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Indecisive on what you do, you consider several outlandish idea to equip your vessel with a weapon of some sort. Not that it would help, anyway. All the resources have been stowed away for transport, you have no designs prepared for any ram or weapon system off any sort, and the production equipment would take quite some time to get anything done either.

Another option you contemplate is to let the Pirates board, then take them hostage. A viable option, perhaps. However, it seems the Pirates are not interested in boarding. They're just shooting everything they can, demanding that anyone who doesn't want to get blown up jump to a specific nearby system, where they'll probably try to board you.

Convoy command maintains that everyone should hold position until reinforcements arrive. How long that will take, they won't say. You could however, flee to a nearby system. The pirates may or may not follow you, if they want too.

For now, you look at how the battle is going. You count at least 20 pirate vessels, almost all smaller than anything in the convoy. Your convoy consisted of 18 ships, but only 8 of those are armed (2 destroyer, 6 smaller escorts). Five ships, including one destroyer, have already been taken out.

stand ground, wait for reinforcements. also calculate the damage we would take if we rammed them as is.

Any damage that would be inflicted by the ram would be smaller than that sustained by the g-forces required to actually get on a collision course.

A few yes. Mostly smaller freelancers.

If we can just jump out of here without being followed, there's no real reason why we should stick around.

Interesting how everyone votes for the non-combat ship and then wants to fight.
Jump out of here. Sticking around will just get us shot.

+1. Seriously guys, we are a non-combat ship and we are losing the fight. What good does it do anyone for us to stay here?

((and the GM just told us straight up that this is an on-rails sequence just to get the game started so how about we just knock it off eh?))

Never! But if we must I say that we jump to a nearby, not pirate controlled sector.

The issue I see with jumping somewhere else is that there must be a way they can track where we jump, or if we have the intent to, or else their demands would be foolish. Best chance would be to jump in the direction of, but much farther than where they want us to jump.

They're telling us to go to a specific place on the off-chance that someone will actually take the bait, hoping for mercy, thus giving them an edge. The only reason they'd do that is if they had no way of tracking where we're going or following us, otherwise they'd just, you know, follow us.

Eventually ebbor will settle this by just telling us if they can follow us. Even if they can, there's still zero reason to go anywhere near where they tell us to.

I never said to go to where they want, I actually said just the opposite. JUst trying to do it in a way to trick the pirates. And I do realize that staying is a horrid idea. No backup is comming, and, if they do, it will be far to late.
