OVERLY LONG POST GO! Spoilered for space. I have waaaay to much time on my hands today.
The light grows more and more, overcoming the room in seconds. Kaho covers her eyes with her arm, almost passing out at the effort of activating her magic. Finally, as if an off switch was flipped, the lights vanish all at once.
Kaho looks carefully above her arm, squinting to be sure it is over...
"...Your pronunciation is horrible."
A comment. A man in an old French Colonel's uniform was standing where the circle had been, with a single hand in one of his pockets. An iconic hat was upon his head, topping off the iconic pose.
"Sorry, Archer-Sama...I do not speak French, but assumed you would want to be greeted in your native language."
Kaho bowed as she said this, fairly deep and fairly long.
"You are unnecessarily risking miscommunication. What if you had messed up the spell just for that? With any lessor Servant, you would stand no chance. As you can see, I speak Japanese just fine."
"Sorry...I will strive to do better in the future."
"Oh, don't look at me like that. Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake, but always interrupt an ally when they do the same. I made all my generals out of mud, and you will be no different. Come, I have a demonstration for you. Do you have a pack of cards?"
"Yes, uh, sir! I have a pack up stairs in the mansion...."
"Wonderful. Lets go and play a hand, I have a lesson I wish to teach you."
"Yes, sir. I will get it right away, please just wait at the table for a moment!"
The Master and Servant quickly walk out of the cement basement, entering the main Kino family mansion that all Magus seem to posses. Archer sits down in a large dining room, on a massive oak table. The room was lit by an electric chandelier high above, but otherwise lacked much decoration. The moon was visible through the room's large, arching window, shining light on the deck of cards Kaho had prepared.
"Thank you. Now, do you know how to play any cards? Lets try a simple game. How about blackjack?"
"I am familiar with the general idea, but never have actually played before..."
"That will do. I will be the dealer, then. Now, please pay attention."
Napoleon expertly begins to shuffle the cards, before dealing two to himself and two to Kaho. Kaho received an ace of hearts and king of spades, face up on the table. In front of Napoleon was a single face down card and a two of diamonds.
"That is twenty one...does that mean I wi-"
"Look out the window!" Napoleon interrupted her immediately, standing up to his full height as he pointed aggressively toward the moon. Kaho, naturally, immediately looks toward where he is pointing with a small sound. With his free hand, Napoleon switches the cards, flipping down the King of Spades and flipping up the unknown card to reveal the five of hearts. As he finishes, he sits back down and crosses his arms.
"Eh-Hey! You cheated!" Kaho crossed her own arms and puffed out her cheeks as she said this.
"But I won. Black Jack."
"But-"
"I. Won. Do you understand your lesson?"
Kaho sighed. "I think so...I remember reading about you when I knew you would become my Servant. You always cheated at cards, but always compensated your opponents losses. It is because you hated losing, and wanted to win at all costs, right?"
"My, you catch on quickly. We will make a great team. I assume you realize how this applies to this mission as well. Now, is there any question you would like to ask the Great Emperor?"
"Well, you seem to be about what I had expected, sir. The only thing that through me off is...I thought you would be tall-"
