Erin, London and Crit
FIRE DAMNIT

EDIT: And move into the cover that London just vacated.

London swells with confidence. While Goring was terrifying to behold, she had personally wounded him, and the strange blood seeping from his wounds was more than enough evidence that he could be slain.

London tosses her Luger to the side, and with a wordless battle cry charges Goring with Grimnir's Hold!
Crit was about to use the Last Resort when London ran in to Melee.
That also rules out shooting with an incredibly innacurate and certainly lethal gun.
So try to get behind Goring while London tanks. BACKSTAB! Then shove a mega seed in the wound.

With Göring closing in, our heroes go for their next attacks. [5-1=4] Erin opens up with her Mnemonic Autocannon again, [Dodge:5] but her aim is rather awful and the burst of brain energy bites into the bridge instead of the monstrous Nazi. [4, 1+1=2, 1+1=2] The Soviets' scattered volley [Dodge:2] [Damage:3] is a little more effective, scoring several hits along the Reichsmarschall's torso.

Clearing his head, Göring responds. [5+1=6, 6+1=6, 4+1=5, 1+1=2] Three machineguns rise up and three swollen Nazi fingers pull triggers. The effect is [Comrade #1 Dodges:4+1=5/5+1=6/4+1=5] [Comrade #2 Dodges:1+1=2/1+1=2/2+1=3] [Comrade #3 Dodges:4+1=5/1+1=2/2+1=3] devastating on the heroic Soviets, a massive barrage reducing two of the trio into bloody pulp. But it doesn't stop there, bullets coming in from the three heavy automatics and [Erin Dodges:6+1=6/4+1=5/5+1=6] [London Dodges:3+1+1=5/4+1+1=5/5+1+1=6] [Crit Dodges:1+1+1=3/6+1+1=6/6+1+1=6] catching Crit in the arm, though Erin saves herself with a quick roll and London is protected by the doorway. [Damage:3/2=2] The damage to Crit is nothing serious.

With Göring looming over them, London knows it's time to act. She drops the inefficient Luger and takes up her trusty Axe once more, more than happy to sate the dragon's thirst with the blood of the Nazi leader. Our hero lets out a fierce war cry and [3-1+1=3] leaps out of her cover to face the Reichsmarschall in honest battle. [Dodge:3] The big brute backtracks, but is too slow to avoid all of London's wrath. Grímnir's Hold bites into one of his arms, drawing more sluggish blood.

[Damage:6/2=3] Göring snarls and eyes London like one would a rabid beast. 'Your medieval attacks will not harm me, the apotheosis of the Reich's science! Run along to the cur that spawned you!'

Before he can return the favor, though, Crit appears to rush past him on the narrow bridge. [4] The Reichsmarschall [4+1=5] [Dodge:5] tries to intercept him with a sweep of one of his machineguns, but the robot rolls under the blow and gets safely past him. Göring, trapped between two opponents, [5+1=6] [Dodge:2] is too slow to block a masterful backstab by Crit and his dress sabre. [Damage:3] More blood gushes out, covering the already-glued-up Nazi blade. [5] Acting quickly, Crit flicks one of his precious gene-engineered Mega Seeds into the cut he made before it can close over.

This serves to make Göring angry, at the very least. 'Ach, so the pups have some bite! I'LL MAKE YOU REGRET THAT!'

[3+1=4, 4+1=5, 3+1=4, 3+1=4] Wounded and bleeding, the beast is certainly not harmless. Göring's two right arms lash out at Crit [Dodges:4/1] with lightning speed. A heavy machinegun slams square on Crit's head screen and sends him reeling, [Damage:4*2=8] [Stunning:6] sparks and Nazi ornaments flying off. The robot is made of sterner stuff, though, and recovers quickly.

At the same time, Göring's left arms strike for London, [Dodges:5/6] but the brave hero parries them with perfect ease with the flat of her ax. She's no easy prey for this monstrosity.

[Regen:3] Göring flesh repairs itself steadily, but at this pace, he's going down sooner or later.

Evil Roy
Evil Roy sees only one way to resolve this situation.

Clearly the escape pod must be fired at the Reichsmarshall.

Meanwhile, Evil Roy has hatched on a perfect plan that could never go wrong. The escape pod, with its hefty weight and jet engine, should prove an excellent weapon against the Nazi. His comrades are more than capable of dodging the giant projectile, however close they might be to the Nazi leader.

[2] He hammers the buttons, hoping to get a sense of how to accomplish his idea that way. Error messages begin popping, then piling up, until a burst of electricity crackles out of the panel and jumps out at Evil Roy. [Dodge:6] He draws back at the last possible moment with an impressive backwards double somersault and follow-up spin on the bridge stairway railing. It's a feat that would undoubtedly win awards should anyone be able to actually comprehend Evil Roy's form in any satisfactory way.

Unbothered, Evil Roy returns to the panel. It appears a little blackened by electrical burns, but it's probably working well enough to proceed with the plan with no unforeseen consequences. Probably.

Speaks
"I must impress upon you the importance of haste!"

Keep on heading straight in.

Speaks and his Soviet comrades are eager to advance towards the sounds of battle. They rush into the main science lab, a very dimly-lit space where Speaks can just make out a stairway and a door ahead in the light of a single, flickering lamp.

[1] Their enthuasiasm lends them speed, and their speed carries them well into the darkness before anyone has any second thoughts. By that point, it's very much too late. Each of Speaks' companions disappears with a muffled grunt a second after he realizes he can't really see anything at all. Something terribly, terribly cold seems to reach out towards him.

[4-1=3] Acting with admirable alacrity, Speaks goes for light, any light, to see whatever danger might be in the darkness with him. The Tooth Gun offers no muzzle flash or luminous blast of energy; the medical supplies are of no use. There's only one thing left, and Speaks gropes blindly for it.

[Stunning:2] But he's too late. Painful cold grips him across his body, inside his veins, seemingly inside his very skull. He hears something like whispers or wind, fast and incessant, so loud they might as well be penetrating into his brain. Speaks finds himself going limp, toppling on his face onto the lab floor. The lone area of light seems so distant now, a few lab tables over...

[Damage:5] Unable to move, unable to see or speak, Speak remains on the floor while something drains the light out of the world. The alluring circle of light given by the single remaining lamp waits ahead, a beacon of hope. His hand remains close to the miniature Dazzle Suit on his belt - it only needs to move a little further...

Evil Roy, though not an electrician by any means, figures that this is a good sign. The best option is to continue with the previous plan. The escape pod is clearly the best possible weapon here.

I debated whether to note this or not, but... the narrow bridge is narrow. Erin is shooting London in the back with an amnesia cannon. There is no line of fire that doesn't pass directly through London. I'm not saying you should change your action in any way, but just in case that was unclear.

Oh, and I guess Evil Roy is trying to aim a jet-powered giant throne at the rest of his team too, but that's fair enough.

Speaks
Are you afraid of the dark?

Can... reach... it...

[6] Willpower is a funny thing. It makes acts that should be impossible practically routine. It turns deadly injuries into mere flesh wounds. It drives you to keep on fighting when all reason or possibility of doing so has long since passed.

And when it comes to Heroic willpower...

Speaks ignores the pain. He ignores the deathly cold, the ice that grips his veins and locks his limbs. He ignores the whispers that tell him to resist is pointless; that death has already come, that this is the end. The bold, determined alien roars his defiance and punches the shadows, and against all odds, that punch connects with something.

For a second, the grip on him loosens, and that second is the only thing he needs. Speaks grabs the tiny Dazzle Suit and clicks it active.

[4] There is an explosion of light and sound. It's like a miniature sun igniting before his eyes, and Speaks staggers like from a physical blow. An unholy cacophony of noise hits his eardrums; bright, dizzying balls of multi-colored light dance across the lab, illuminating it in all its glory. Stabbing beams of pure white light sweep across the shadows like from the galaxy's deadliest disco ball. Speaks hears sounds like hissing or burning.

Holding the Dazzle Suit above his head, Speaks looks around. He still feels cold and dazed, but he can move, and [5] so can the surviving Soviets. A few of them look pale and lifeless, already drained, but the rest come to in the continuing barrage of light and sound. There's no telling how long that will continue - the corners of the room still look ominously dark and seething. Speaks wonders if the intensity of the dazzling is actively giving... whatever they are... pain. Perhaps it's even lethal.

Erin, Crit and London
F. I. R. E. DON'T FIRE.
Beep beep beeeeeep!

Run and take cover. Suppressing fire! Seed should finish him off.
"Yer right, Goring, we are yer opposites! Yer foul science is no match fer that burning heart of a Hero!"

London continues to hack away at the beast with her axe!

Meanwhile, in the next room over, the rest of the Heroes continue to combat the cunning Göring. [4] Crit withdraws from the melee, heading over to the other end of the Bridge instead to use the giant throne for cover. He bumps into Evil Roy, though his noble comrade seem a little distracted with tinkering with the little panel in the back of the throne. Crit [1+1=2] is too distracted by the sudden appearance of his friend to make his attack on the Nazi leader.

Erin decides not to risk firing with her fellow Hero in the firing line, leaving it to London to battle the dread Nazi. [2+1=3] The intimidating giant before her doesn't bother our Hero too much. She shouts out her defiance - 'Yer right, Goring, we are yer opposites! Yer foul science is no match fer that burning heart of a Hero!' - and swings for his neck! [Dodge:1] Grímnir's Hold strikes true and hard, cutting right through Göring's protectively-raised arm and sinking itself deep into his chest! [Damage:6*2=12] The Nazi monster roars and staggers back, trailing blood from the enormous wound.

London [5+1=6, 3+1=4] has no time to celebrate, though. With furious vigor, Göring rebounds and charges forward with all four arms swinging. [Dodge:4/6] London parries, dodges and weaves under the blows, giving ground but not letting a single blow through. Göring roars again like the mad beast he is.

'Finish the monster, comrade! Don't let him escape!' the surviving Soviet leader shouts out, and the next moment London sees why. Göring turns tail and charges for his throne, one of his machineguns clattering to the floor as the arm holding it comes down to press on his wound.

'I am INVINCIBLE! I WILL RETURN!' Göring shouts, [Regen:2] his enhanced biology doing its best to stop the bleeding.

It is at this point that everyone's attention is taken up by events at the Throne.

Evil Roy
Evil Roy, though not an electrician by any means, figures that this is a good sign. The best option is to continue with the previous plan. The escape pod is clearly the best possible weapon here.

With the Nazi leader charging right for him, if unknowingly, Evil Roy knows it is time to act. [1, oh my god] He bravely goes up to the panel and begins bashing it at random with full faith in Destiny, Heroism or blind Luck doing his work for him. Surely it's only a matter of time till he hits on the right combination of controls to plop this baby on its side and send it screaming towards their target?

It takes a minute or so, with a bunch of gauges jumping into red, error messages growing more and more urgent, a thrumming sound coming from below... and then the Throne explodes.

[2] It is not a gentle explosion. The sides of the Throne rupture outwards and flame bursts out in every direction, carried even further by some kind of released chemical that promptly ignites. Pieces of the throne go spinning through the air, trailing fire and smoke. Evil Roy and Crit are, of course, right at the heart of the blast.

[Evil Roy Dodge:4-1=3] The instigator of this 'splosion has nice reflexes and quick wits, but it still only gets him half-way. Evil Roy makes a leap for the lower level the moment he realizes something's gonna blow, but the explosion catches him in mid-air and punches him into the wall with the force of two angry giants. [Damage:20/2=10] [Stunning:5] He narrowly avoids the cloud of burning shrapnel that follows as he falls on his... something on the floor of the lower level. The pain is quite immense, but he feels very much alive.

[Crit Dodge:5-1=4] Poor, unfortunate Crit is next, but his robotic sensors catch wind of what's happening before it happens, and the plucky little robot rolls clear of the Throne and down the stairs onto the relative safety of the lower level. Bits of metal and machinery rain down on him, but the wave of heat and force barely bruises him and only knocks off a few useless Nazi knicknacks.

Charging right into the explosion is the Reichsmarschall, [Dodge:4-1=3] and his momentum carries him right into its heart. A muscular monstrosity of Nazi science turns out not to be the most agile of creatures. [Damage:20/2=10] He's promptly thrown right back the way he came with shrapnel lancing into his flesh. Göring screams, a deep, tortured wail that conveys death and vengeance upon all who dare stand against him. He lands heavily on the middle of the bridge, [5] which manages to hold under his weight.

[London Dodge:6] [Erin Dodge:2] [Soviet Dodge:5] At the end of the bridge, in the face of the onrushing firestorm and storm of steel, London and the last Soviet throw themselves flat or into cover and manage to avoid the force of the blast. Erin is not quite so lucky, [Damage:10-3=7] though her armor at least deflects some of the shrapnel. Damn, but heroics are a dangerous business.

The aftermath of the explosion leaves their ears ringing, their wounds bleeding but all of them, including the Reichsmarschall, quite alive, and not even on fire. [1] The same cannot be said for the Bridge itself. Hungry flames are beginning to spread outwards from the smoking ruins of the Throne. The reinforced glass of the far wall is punctured in several points, rushing air fleeing the room.

---
Spoiler: Evil Roy (click to show/hide)

---
A success for Evil Roy would likely have sent the Throne and Göring with it rushing straight into (and through) the ceiling and every level above. A great success would've instead used it as a giant missile that would in all likelihood made Göring, London, Erin and the Soviet splatters on the wall. Of course, any of these results could have been made greatly more Fun* by Evil Roy jamming his Amplifier Sword into the machine.

*Several characters would likely be much deader, for instance.

Evil Roy asks his gloves if they feel like providing him with a slight pick-me-up.

Whether they do or not, he delicately petitions Crit for some first aid.

All the while, of course, he watches for approaching Reichsmarschalls, quite ready to shoot them in their sensitive bits with his crossbow.

I'm attacking the darkness!

As Speaks shook his head to recover himself, a deafening roar drowns out even the racket made by his Suit.  "Noble fellows, it appears that we have been beaten to the action!  Grab those who yet live and let us sally forth!"

Ever onward!  Drag anyone who is alive but can't move out of this darkness!

Well, nothing unusual - everything is on fire, the engines are about to pop, there's so much blood everywhere...

You could try to shoot Göring, but there's still a risk of friendly fire, or attack him in melee, but he'll likely go down without your help. Your current action works just as well. This mission is about over.
