Evil Roy and Crit
Evil Roy asks his gloves if they feel like providing him with a slight pick-me-up.

Whether they do or not, he delicately petitions Crit for some first aid.

All the while, of course, he watches for approaching Reichsmarschalls, quite ready to shoot them in their sensitive bits with his crossbow.

Crit beeps sympathetically and Does his best to repair his friend Evil Roy.

The battle on the Bridge nears its climax, but down on the lower level, temporarily out of it, Crit and Evil Roy share a less dangerous moment as the robot tends to his indescribable comrade's damages. [4] Crit is becoming quite adept in dealing with the wounds of organics, and Evil Roy begins feeling quite a bit better in just a few moments.

Evil Roy: +8 HP!

Emboldened by this success, Evil Roy decides to try asking his lovely Gloves for aid again. He makes his request and is surprised to hear, for the first time, the voices answer in a somewhat intelligible manner - a burst of discordant whispering that increases and decreases in intensity with no rhyme nor reason to it. [3] It goes something like: mORE GIVE US more more joIN US MORE WE NEED MORE.

Well. Polite they aren't.

Speaks
O
I'm attacking the darkness!

As Speaks shook his head to recover himself, a deafening roar drowns out even the racket made by his Suit.  "Noble fellows, it appears that we have been beaten to the action!  Grab those who yet live and let us sally forth!"

Ever onward!  Drag anyone who is alive but can't move out of this darkness!

Out in the lab, Speaks leaps into action. [5-1=4] Trusting the Dazzling to keep the shadows at bay, Speaks rouses the stunned Soviets and grabs those too weak to move on their own. Together, the lot of them make their way out without any further casualties, though they leave four of their number lifeless on the lab floor. The Soviets only have praise for the saurian Hero.

'Truly you are a savior sent to us by the will of the People itself, comrade alien!' their leader says once he has recovered his energy. Speaks and his new lifelong friends leave the lab behind and advance towards the Bridge. Some kind of fracas appears to be going on in there, and they burst in to see...

London
London delivers a finishing blow to the Reichsmarschall!

...London's triumphant final attack. The boldest of the Heroes advances on the crippled Nazi leader: 'This is it, Goring. Say hello to Hitler fer me when ya SEE HIM IN HELL!'

The monstrous Reichsmarschall rises up to meet her with a snarl. 'Like the Reich, I am eternal! MEET YOUR DOOM!'

[6-1+1=6]vs[5+1=6] Both combatants launch their attacks simultaneously. [London Dodges:4/1] There is no room for defense in offense. London's daring overhead swing leaves her exposed, and one of the Nazi's heavy machineguns slams into her torso. [Damage:4*2=8] [Stunning:4] The pain is considerable, but London grits her teeth and deals with it. She didn't come this far to fall to some fascist punk. Her own blow [Dodge:2] cuts through Göring's defense and sinks right into his torso, [Damage:6] and the bastard sure feels it. Göring staggers, his skin growing pale and sickly, and roars in pain.

The two combatants face eachother on the burning bridge. Göring appears to have given up any thought of escape. This duel will end in death. [5+1=6] The Reichsmarschall strikes forward, [Dodges:5/2] [Shield Use:3] one of his machineguns slamming into the flames of London's Thermal Shield [Damage:4-2=2], which sucks up most of its potency. London is still too dazed to counter immediately, but takes a step back - [5-1+1=5] and charges the fat bastard again! She can hear the cheers of her friends and allies, hear the call for vengeance for all the victims of this monster - she can hear the Sword of Justice coming down on his neck as surely as Grímnir's Hold will.

London Tanner is a Hero, [Dodge:2] and in that moment, she shows it. [Damage:6] The ancient, cursed battleaxe comes down and there is nothing the Reichsmarschall can do about it. It plunges straight through his arms, straight through his ribcage, straight through his monstrous, swollen heart. A fountain of blood explodes outwards and anoints London in blood, and their target topples down, eyes wide in disbelief, and falls dead.

The Soviets rush over and fill him with lead to make sure this is the case. Then - silence, except for the crackling of the increasing fires. A tiny green sprout climbs out of the Reichsmarschall's gaping wound while no-one's watching. They're preoccupied - the airship is beginning to descend at a worryingly accelerating speed. Whatever they might still want to do here, they'd better do it quick.

Mission objectives complete. Teleportation will commence as soon as all Heroes are ready. All acquired generic items will be vaporized.

Poor Speaks missed the action, but his shenanigans in the engine room did significantly contribute to the completion of Objective: Cripple the Nazi Terror Fleet.

"Ahhh... it appears you have achieved victory without my assistance!  Well done, comrades!"  That bit was addressed to all present- heroes and Soviets.  "I have ensured critical damage to the engines of this aeronautical assemblage, so let us depart at once!"

Let's get out of here before it blows.

Evil Roy claps one appendage against another, signalling appreciative readiness.

Should he not get teleported before something catastrophic happens, he will leap out a convenient exit point and attempt a paradrop instead, signalling readiness to be teleported any moment now.

"Good job, Speaks. The General is dead, but we don't want ta leave this wreck for the Nazis."

London turns to the Soviet leader.

"You guys might want ta jump ship now. This is the part where we have ta leave, but it was an honor fighting with ya!"

London shakes the hand of the Soviet leader and then [/b]signals that she's ready to depart.[/b]

All

Our Heroes make their goodbyes and prepare for takeoff. London and Speaks, in particular, give thanks to their Soviet comrades for their bravery and assistance. The plucky Communists get teary-eyed in turn.

'The honor was ours, comrade. May our paths cross again! May the will of the People be with you! Oh, you can keep the hat,' the leader says. With that, he's gone, marshalling the rest of them to take the bodies of the fallen and return posthaste to their jetpacks. The Fist of the Soviet People will live to fight another day.

With them gone and the ship still on fire and falling, our Heroes gather around, waiting for teleportation. Wait... did anyone actually mention how they could signal readiness? Do the Justice Corps even know they've finished the job? Maybe they should-

With soft -pop's-, the five Heroes disappear from the ruined Bridge and this world entirely.

There's a sensation much like their insides going round and round and round again at the speed of light. Their brains feel burning hot and deathly cold at the same time. Every cell of their skin twists in every possible direction at the same time.

Then they are unceremoniously deposited onto the floor of the teleportation chamber on the Lux Aeterna in a tangled mess of limbs and groaning. It only takes a few seconds for Lux's cheery voice and bouncing ball of light to appear before them.

'Wow, guys, that sure was really dangerous! I'm so proud of- Oh, General coming through!'

A heavy metal screen suddenly drops out of the ceiling and is quickly filled with the face of General Tullion. He squints at the five Heroes for the longest time.

'What, only one of you died? Humh. Well done, Heroes. You appear to be slightly more competent than our usual, er, recruits. Let's debrief you, then, shall we?' he says, and half of the screen is taken up by a list that looks about like this:

***

MISSION I
+Objective: Cripple the Nazi Terror Fleet [Success! Though the Justice Corps would have preferred to see even more Nazi death and destruction, the loss of the Reichszeppelins Ostmark and Germania in such a spectacular fashion has surely struck a blow the Nazis will not recover from in a hurry.] [All: +3 Fabricator Tokens]
+Objective: Eliminate the Reichsmarschall [Success! The monster is dead by your hands, and to you go the spoils.] [All: +3 Fabricator Tokens]

Bonus Rewards:
+Speaks: Disabled the engines! [For his key contribution to the destruction of the Germania, alongside the tragically passed Vissilik, the Hero Speaks is to be commended.] [Speaks: +1 Fabricator Token]
+London and Evil Roy: Göring-Slayer! [For defeating the Reichsmarschall in single combat and explosively sabotaging his means of escape, respectively, London and Evil Roy are to be commended.] [London: +2 Fabricator Tokens, Evil Roy: +1 Fabricator Token]

[2] [Preliminary analysis of the Nazi Experiment Logs procured by Hero London indicate they are next to worthless. No commendation shall be issued for wasting Science Division's time.]
[3] [The assumed destruction of the unknown 'shadow weapon' used against our Heroes leaves its origins and nature a mystery. If our heroes should ever come upon its like again, they are advised to try to capture the things for later study and use.]

[Hero London may exchange one of her Tokens to feed her drug habit, if she so wishes.]

***

'Not bad, not bad at all! You might have what it takes to be a true Hero after all! Everyone's dismissed; put those Tokens to good use! Lux will let you know when we've got a new mission thought up for you.'

Tullion cuts out, leaving our Heroes in some peace and quiet, at last. There are directions to the Fabricator they know and love, the Transport Hall and its Vehicle Fabricator and the Simulation Deck. Lux will be happy to answer any questions.

Evil Roy slinks away to spend a token on a Protection item from the Fabricator.

After getting a feel for the item produced, he ambles off to the Transport Hall, appendages quivering in anticipation.

Crit gives Erin back the green rifle.

Then he beeps angrily and his screen starts flashing and he does his best to tear off any remaining nazi ornaments.

Evil Roy
Evil Roy slinks away to spend a token on a Protection item from the Fabricator.

After getting a feel for the item produced, he ambles off to the Transport Hall, appendages quivering in anticipation.

Evil Roy leaves his companions for now and returns to the familiar space of the Fabricator hall. He's going to make good use of his new Tokens. The first goes into the Protection slot and [3 - Other Type] [1 - One Effect] [Cowardice] is rewarded by a pleasing rattle, drawn-out beep, gush of steam and a cute little melody before something manifests in the air before him.

Evil Roy takes in a faint, hovering spark of light that bobs about like a manic fairy. The description is a little more useful.

Spoiler: Omniphobic Familiar (click to show/hide)

Well, that might be... problematic. Putting the thing aside for now, Evil Roy ambulates out of the room and follows directions to the Transport Hall.

If the Fabricator hall was huge, the Transport Hall proves to be gigantic. Clouds gather up by the distant ceiling - the far wall might be nearly a kilometre away! The right-side wall, on the other hand, is taken up in similar vein to the other Fabricator, by an endless bank of machinery. A tiny console sits near the entrance. Evil Roy spots some launch rails and ship-sized airlocks further up. How big is this ship, anyway?

The console has a simpler list of options. Well, it has many buttons with names such as 'Large Air Vehicle' or 'Small Land Vehicle', but the only thing working, rather predictably, is 'Surprise me!'. This opens a list of:

Code: [Select]
1. Personal [1 Token]
2. Small Vehicle [3 Tokens]
3. Large Vehicle [6 Tokens]

Intriguing.

Crit
Then he beeps angrily and his screen starts flashing and he does his best to tear off any remaining nazi ornaments.

Crit, back in the Teleport room, goes to work on the Nazi insignia and decorations bolted onto him. [1] They are sturdy. Very sturdy. Say what you say about the Nazis, but they were very thorough. Things are welded, bolted, fused onto him, so Crit only tries harder, ignoring damage alarms that pop up in his systems - but it's in vain. [2] The only thing Crit accomplishes is hurting himself without any significant loss to his overall Nazi level.

Crit: -5 HP.

"Grand!  A fair payment for justice served and a task accomplished.  I suppose now we shall appropriate more equipment from the Fabricator technological wonder?"

Charge up the TerrorPorter in the appropriate charge slot.

Then let's hit up the Fabricator for another Protection and let's also grab a Wearable.

London can't help but swell up with pride. She gives Crit a quick hug, then runs off to the Fabricator with a glint in her eye.

She punches in four of her tokens, then selects Weapon, Protection, Wearable, and Drug after a moment of hesitation.

((Happy holidays, everyone.))

Crit follows London and Speaks to the fabricator. As seems to be popular, he orders 1 wearable and 1 protection.

((Crit's HP says 28/28. Did he permanently lose 2 HP?))
