((Aw man, Vissilik would have loved trying to figure out one of those spheres.

Then again, Vissilik died trying to take command of the entire ship and every eagle, sphere, and yacht on it.

In any case go Toaster.))

It was the most ugly, horrifying thing she'd ever seen. She wanted to throw it in the incinerator, never to see the light of day again. She wanted to jump off a cliff and die just to get the image out of her mind.

Maybe it would have that effect on the bad guys.

Putting on the armor- with her eyes closed and away from reflective surfaces- and taking the weapons, Erin goes through the teleporter to whatever mission it puts her on.

London Tanner
"We need one a' those eagle fliers! None o' the others have any guns on 'em, and ah don't think we're gonna be the only people in the sky out there!"

Make a break for the nearest eagle-shaped flier. Evict occupants with deadly force, if need be.

Keen-eyed London decides to make a dash for one of the sturmeagle jet planes. [3] She rushes down the stairway onto the hangar floor with a fearsome battlecry, hefting Grímnir's Hold in case someone needs to be evicted from her plane. Some Stormtroopers turn towards her as she charges, [2] [1] and are too surprised to even consider raising their weapons. London thunders on past them, climbs the step to the eagle's cockpit and rolls inside. The Nazis shout out in alarm outside.

[4] She takes a good look at the controls. Buttons, switches, gauges and dials, and some kind of stick to control the thing with. There are way too many reichseagles and swastikas for her liking, as well as a poster of the Führer in a swimsuit on the side wall. All in all, she can probably fly this thing. She's prepped for flight. The guards outside might disagree, though.

Sneak to one of the yachts and hijack it unless someone has a better plan.

Evil Roy assists Crit in this vital task.

Knowing they will need to travel in style, Crit and Evil Roy set their sights on one of the air-yachts. While the others go in guns blazing, they decide to use the chaos as an opportunity and slip unseen past the Nazis. London provides able distraction, her berzerker screams attracting the attention of crew and stormtrooper alike. [6] Crit and Evil Roy lurk, sneak and stalk their way across the hangar, slipping from one piece of cover to the next. The busy hangar floor with its fuel lines, supply dumps and stockpiles provides ample protection from the Nazis' eyes, and soon they've reached [1] a yacht set a little aside from the others. No mechanics or guards are near.

The pair climb aboard and stroll a little on the deck before finding the controls. [5] The controls prove to be simple and the heroes grasp their use immediately. They'll pilot this boat like the Nazis can only dream of.

Speaks
"Surely that strange device is useful somehow!"

Secure one of the spheres!  If attempts are fruitless, head for the team yacht.  Use gun if required, terrorport if close.

[1] The saurian follows London's example, though aiming for one of the odd spheres. Unfortunately, the element of surprise is lost and he's intercepted by a gang of Nazi bullies, who [1] [1] [2] are too flabbergasted at his alien appearance and sudden charge to so much as shout at him. Speaks [5] crashes right into them and quickly rolls clear, not intending to waste time with these goons.

He reaches the nearest sphere. There appears to be no point of entry, with the glass viewports the only break in the sphere's surface. Though, on closer inspection, they're not exact spheres - the top and bottom are flat, presumably to stop them from rolling away. Regardless, these things are quite a bit different from the other Nazi technology on display. There's not a single swastika to be seen!

[5] He touches the surface of the sphere and finds it solid, but oddly soft, pliable to the touch. It's constructed out of some shimmery metallic material that reminds him of quicksilver. On a whim, Speaks presses harder on the wall of the sphere. At first, nothing seems to happen, but then, without warning, his arm shoots right through the wall and disappears into it, emerging into warm air inside the thing. Speaks pulls back his arm in alarm and it comes through with as much resistance, whole and sound.

Knowing there's no time to waste, Speaks takes a few steps back - hearing the shouts of approaching Nazis behind him - and charges right into the wall. He doesn't stop, not wanting to experience being half inside and half outside at once, and flies right inside with a wet smacking sound.

Inside, a pale, sourceless light illuminates the inside. The viewport shows the hangar, and appears to have handles attached - it seems it can be moved around the walls of the sphere however you like. Unfortunately, there are no controls as far as he can see. On the floor is a simple carpet for him to sit on (with Nazi symbols woven into it), and a set of three swirls lay engraved in the floor, like runes of some kind.

He looks out of the viewport. The Germania fills the entire view out of the hangar opening, close enough for them to distinguish features along its envelope, like Nazi banners flapping in the wind and lines of windows running along it.

Erin Strand
Putting on the armor- with her eyes closed and away from reflective surfaces- and taking the weapons, Erin goes through the teleporter to whatever mission it puts her on.

Erin wastes no more time, heading for the Teleporter Deck to get to her fellow heroes. Lux appears again to guide her.

'Wow, you're hideous! Just run over there so we can teleport you out of sight, gosh!' she says, activating a bunch of guidance lights that lead her where she needs to go.

As the teleporter begins to count down, Erin wonders what this mission actually is. Probably some serious, grave threat to galactic security. She prepares herself to her solemn duty on behalf of justice.

The teleporter flashes, and she feels her entire body being torn...

Erin will arrive with the others next turn.

Evil Roy springs into action with great gusto, placing his multitudinous, ill-defined appendages on as many controls as he can get away with (which is in and of itself an uncertain number for a variety of reasons), and exclaims his great enthusiasm for the task ahead as he gets to work.

Continue immensely fruitful team-up and fly out of this doomed thing.

((Holy shit, Speaks has himself a steampunk flying carpet. That's awesome.))

Erin will arrive with the others next turn.

((A new friend already! I like those guns; most of us will clear the trash out more quickly, but Erin will really shine once the next mini/boss shows up. Lay down some covering fire with the autocannon, move in with the blunderbuss once the boss is immobilized, then run away once the DoT starts and just wait for them to implode. It looks like she could kill pretty much anything she wants with a few turns of fire.

I don't want to be anywhere near that firing arc, though... friendly fire with that blunderbuss would be murderous.))

a new job

((Good luck! Hopefully your arm is getting better by now.))

London's grin resembles that of a small child on Christmas morning, but the edge of insane bloodlust would probably have given her parents pause. The questionable decor doesn't even register in her mind.

Well, perhaps one detail is a bit too much to deal with. Reaching out, London crumples the Furher's beach poster into a little ball and offhandedly tosses it out the cockpit. Is that thing standard issue?

She shakes her head, casting such incredulous thoughts aside, then hits the gas as hard as she can.

Full throttle right out the bay doors! Lower priorities include sealing the cockpit, locating some sort of communication gear, and figuring out which buttons make the dakka.

Evil Roy and Crit

Continue immensely fruitful team-up and fly out of this doomed thing.
Man...er, Robot the machine gun!

[2+1=3] Evil Roy batters away at the controls while Crit skips outside to robot the machinegun - which appears to be yet another Nazi energy weapon, in fact. Despite the rather erratic and overenergetic way Evil Roy steps into action, he finds the right buttons and switches eventually. Outside, other yachts rise up and fly away, the crew finally making the decision to escape. There's not a moment to lose - they're so close to the Germania they can hear its thunderous engines. Most of the escapees take hard turns right after clearing the hangar bay.

The engine sputters on - a rather worrying, rattling sort of noise - and Evil Roy gets them into the air. He hits the thrusters. The yacht lurches forward, accelerating at a glacial pace, and inches closer and closer to the open hangar doors just like the bulk of the Germania does towards this airship.

And then they're out. [3] He quickly finds the air-yacht handles like a barrel filled with rocks, Crit hanging on for dear life as the vessel careens from one side to the other. It appears they have not chosen the newest or most manouevrable craft, but it will have to do. Evil Roy pulls up with all his might to avoid crashing right into the Germania, and the yacht rises with agonizing slowness. Then there's an enormous shudder and a reveberating groan of metal, and one quick look tells them the front of the airship has smashed into the front of the Germania. The rest of it begins to follow, explosions erupting towards the bridge. If anyone was still there, they're surely dead now.

[3] But they have more urgent concerns. Below them, a sturmeagle rushes out of the hangar, only to explode in a bright swirl of flame against the armored hull of the Nazi flagship. From the look ahead, they're about to meet the same fate. Evil Roy hammers at the controls for just a bit more elevation, while Crit loses his grip and slides down the deck as the yacht goes more and more vertical. The robot hits a bump and is thrown into the air - straight towards the glass of Evil Roy's control room. [5] Evil Roy performs an elaborate and indescribable dodging manouever to avoid being crashed into by a free-flying robot, unwilling to let go of the controls. Somehow, the robot is unharmed, and picks himself up from the back wall of the room.

They rise, the yacht's failing engines giving it they all. They rise, and they almost clear the airship. The bottom of the yacht hits the top of the Germania and skids along the envelope with a stream of sparks, the trailing Nazi flags tearing and breaking off, the gold paint flaking. The right-side thrusters slam into the hull, give off a tortured scream, and erupt in smoke. The laws of physics take note and the yacht goes into a spin along the top of the envelope, powered by its only remaining thrusters.

[6+1=6] Evil Roy punches the controls with all the ingenuity and skill and possible extra limbs he can muster. Lightning-fast touches run over the thruster controls and activate stabilizers, drawing more speed and elevation like from out of nowhere. The yacht hits the envelope one last time and bounces up, back into the sky. With one working thruster, it wobbles, weaving right and left - but it flies.

The heroes have made their escape.

London Tanner... and Erin?
Full throttle right out the bay doors! Lower priorities include sealing the cockpit, locating some sort of communication gear, and figuring out which buttons make the dakka.

In the past, though not so many minutes, London straps in in the cockpit of her brand new sturmeagle. [3] She tries what she thinks is the throttle. It is not the throttle, as she finds out as a volley of screeching rockets fire out from under her wings and head towards the side of the Germania. She tries other buttons, ending up sealing the cockpit, locating some kind of communication gear - it buzzes with desperate screams on official Nazi channels - locating some sort of music system, window wipers, shaking her wings, what appears to be an ejection seat so she does not press that, and then, at last, when the Nazi flagship looms uncomfortably close outside, the throttle.

The acceleration drives her into the seat. The whole sturmeagle shakes and is out of the hangar doors in a blink. Another blink, and the Germania is right in front of her. [4] She pulls up and the sturmeagle turns its beak up. The jet plane just barely clears the Germania and races up into the sky. She levels her flight and begins circling in the sky, trying to get a sense of the situation.

[2] At this point, there's a flash of light and Erin Strand appears on top of her plane. The new hero blinks, is bowled over by high-speed air, and just barely manages to get a grip of the sturmeagle's beak. She screams involuntarily. Then, with teleportation sickness settling in, she throws up. Then she screams again. Looking at her incredibly tacky choice of outfit, London feels like vomiting too.

Speaks
Success!  Now to figure out how to work this strange contraption...

Experiment with the swirls and get this boat going.

And in the past, Speaks begins experimenting with swirls. [3] He hopes to get into the air as soon as he can, but the first swirl he presses, the one on the left, does nothing for transportation. In fact, it appears to do nothing. Everything looks just the same, though the swirl emits a little light.

Shrugging, he tries the central one next. Immediately, a ball of light appears projected in the air above it. He gives the ball a tentative poke and the sphere jerks forward - oddly enough, the inside of the sphere doesn't seem to move around him - he can only see the view outside change. [3] He puts his hand inside the sphere and moves it about, pleased to see the sphere moving with it. Unfortunately, he doesn't totally have a knack for it yet - the sphere bangs against the hangar floor a few times, then begins to veer backwards. He tries to change its course by waving his hand about and the sphere spins wildly, rushing in every possible direction. He finds himself flying soundlessly through the rapidly emptying hangar.

[2] One of the yachts remaining tries to lift off right in front of him, and Speaks' waving only makes the sphere spin around a lot, turning the view outside into a blur. He feels the impact, though, as the sphere slams into the yacht and bounces right off. There's nothing visible out of the hangar doors now than the Germania, and he punches through the ball of light, desperate to get out.

At once, the sphere moves, with frightening speed, and before he can alter his course he's outside and staring at the hull of the Nazi flagship from his viewport. [4] Speaks pulls back desperately, managing to slow his approach a bit, and then smashes right into the armored envelope. Again, the sphere bounces off, but this time there's a sound like crystal shattering and the sourceless light inside begins to flicker. Speaks has no time to think about that - he's between two armored hulls about to crash into another, and needs to get away, fast. He punches down through the light and the sphere drops sharply.

Above him, two giants collide, but Speaks clears the gap between them just at the last minute - and then he is free, though he quickly moves away to avoid the rain of incoming debris. Once at a safe distance, he turns to look.

---
Spoiler: Speaks (click to show/hide)

All

Having escaped, though a few at the cost of some worrying damages, our heroes survey the scene from around the sky.

Nazi airships fly in formation all around, though most at a distance from these two. Smaller craft escaping with them circle around or try to get away. The reason is apparent, and in a moment there's no time to focus on anything else than the collision of the two ships.

The smaller of the two crashes into its larger comrade with agonizing slowness. Gun batteries on the Germania fire, perhaps trying to down the smaller ship as a last minute measure, but are soon silenced as the armored hull of the first ship presses against them and mangles the side of the Germania. Metal squeals and groans and breaks off, raining down onto the surface far below like little meteorites. Explosions ripple across both ships. The first airship caves into itself, like crashing into a stone wall, the front going first in smoke and fire which quickly race down its length.

Soon enough, the engines detonate; pieces of burning metal whip out with lightning speed in every direction, including an enormous propeller blade which arcs through the air and slams into the flagship uncomfortably close to Crit and Evil Roy. The thrusters, which doomed the ship in the first place, finally go out in enormous gusts of white-hot flame and crackling energy. Without power, still pushing into the Germania, the airship's remnants begin to fall, entire sections hurtling down towards the land below. Crit thinks he sees his jungle burning on one of the pieces.

The Germania is pushed, and hurt, and at many points, set alight. But, as the team soon realizes, it's far from destroyed. The armored skin of the behemoth has withstood this blow, though they can see plenty of gaping holes and raging fires running across its side. Some look large enough to use as entry points. Long sections of metal stick out at points, like broken bones.

The Germania lives, wounded as it is, and the reichsmarschall must still be inside. It seems their mission is not yet over.

Oddly enough, some of the falling pieces appear to be... coming back up? The team can make out little dots rising towards the Nazi fleet, trailing smoke and fire.

Fly to the Germania! Park somewhere appropriate and resume adventurous action. Trust in Crit's discretion in the roboting of the energy machine gun.

As much as he'd like to go for a dashing and daring strafing run on the Germania, Speaks simply didn't trust his craft to be up for the task; it was certainly damaged in some indeterminate way.  Landing it sooner rather than later was the best option.

Find a safe spot and board the ship.  Ditch this probably-broken craft.
