My suggestion: Samantha fills the corridor with shields, whilst Harold Crab Styles's down it. He is followed by Francis.

Once we actually get some loot I think we should consider bugging out.

Everyone make loud noises to rile up the ants, then retreat into the room and have Harold and Francis stand on the side of the chokepoint.

Also I like the... uh... aesthetics! I don't know what it exactly is that make me like this game.

Samantha remembers now that there was a sighting of acid throwing ants. "Guy be careful, that's an acid thrower" she informs the teammates.

My suggestion: Samantha fills the corridor with shields, whilst Harold Crab Styles's down it. He is followed by Francis.

Once we actually get some loot I think we should consider bugging out.

"Um what do you think that blood on the walls means?" Francis notices. Quick inspection near his feet shows that he is currently standing on a pressure plate. Although experimentally putting carefully putting his foot down he does not get hurt by anything, there seems to be a sound of automatic crossbow mechanisms triggering.

Everyone make loud noises to rile up the ants, then retreat into the room and have Harold and Francis stand on the side of the chokepoint.

Harold shares his plan while retreating back into the first room.
The fighter lowers his shield and starts bashing it with sword. He also starts chanting an old battle song sung by his countrymen (think haka )
Samantha starts channeling powers (preparing to cast shields on the party members as soon as enemy appears)
Francis takes up position so he could support Harold and pass a few hit while enemy is a few hits enemy is engaged by Harold.

(the ants are not in the view)

What about making a shield inside an enemy, then expanding it?

What about making a shield inside an enemy, then expanding it?

Well two problems: one is that the giant ant at the start was able to go into the shield without any harm and another is an age old magic problem: why if your mage has telekinesis he can't just crush your heart. And to that there is two limitations: you need to see the target for most spells (or else it's way harder) and there is an opposition to magic both by the nature of materials involved and the will of the person (you can 'accept' even a bad effect to some degree).

So making a shield inside an enemy and then expanding would probably not do great harm and be hard (unless expanding is done VERY fast, then it would probably rip the target apart, but that is a way too hard for our mage (currently)).

That makes sense, but what if we did it in say, a humans head, and then made the shield smaller?

There are alot more soft parts in a humans head.
Harold can go into the style of the wall of amorak.
The ranger can shoot arrows over Harold.
The white mage can attempt to make a shield in the ceiling, then expand it so the tunnel collapses.

After some time our without ants attacking, our heroes hear a sound like something is being heavy being dragged. Harold takes a peak:

Looks like ant workers grouped together to drag the statues.

Why the statues?
I recommend that we wait.
