Bio:
A career soldier turned mercenary from Zadrye, Hildebrand is a seasoned and professional warrior. While no stranger to killing, he also fought in multiple tournaments and though he never placed in the top, he did respectably well and earned a decent amount of gold and fame for himself.

This came to a sudden end when, in the final round of a jousting competition, he took a lance to the face and very nearly died. He would have died, in fact, if it hadn't been for the healers standing by to treat minor injuries. The healers were able to stabilize the critically wounded knight, though they lacked the skill to do more. Hildebrand's modest fortune went towards his months-long recovery, and his reputation was in tatters by the time he finally regained his feet.

Bio: Varda Langer is a proud citizen of Thola, the daughter of vegetable merchants living near Equina. Unsurprisingly, living in such a magical place sparked his interest in science and learning at a young age. Unfortunately his parents were too poor to afford an university education so she had to make do with what she could. She helped to stack shelves at a bookstore for a chance to read through the books, and was always eager to assist any alchemists in their work. When she became old enough to drink Varda visited the bars popular with students, carousing late into the night and debating the latest scientific and magical theories. Of course said theories were about the four elements, alchemy, phrenology and similar things, but it was a start.

Unfortunately for Varda , being at the cutting edge of magical and scientific theory isn't very helpful if you don't have a diploma to go with it. Without one it is difficult to find a patron to fund any of his endeavours or experiments, such as discovering new methods of transmutating base elements to gold, since they are wary of crooks and fraudsters and so pass him over for certified mages. As such Varda has been using his skills to try and earn enough money to go through university, even if she already knows most of the material by heart. Since most people won't hire an uncertified mage, she's tried his hand at anything where the results are more important than his lack of formal training, such as fortune-telling, minor alchemy and the like. Mercenary work, while much more dangerous and strenuous than she's used to, is simply a natural progression to what Varda has been doing before.

This character is and has always been a woman. I have no idea why you'd think anything different.

To be fair, triggering on all move used is far more likely than not moving at all like the other ones that had that issue. Also, 'das our second mage. Mayhaps one of you would consider shiftin' 'ta Shaman?

Of course, I'll be picking based on character and pretty much totally ignoring class so it doesn't really matter that much. You guys could end up with 8 priests if you all decided to go that way, and they were the best characters. :v

The counterattack clause is for fighting sages or bishops or whatever who might carry heal staffs as well as a weapon. I'm not going to neuter myself quite so badly that so many tier-2 magic classes would be able to attack me with impunity :V

IIRC enemies count as equipped with whatever they last used. So if a Bishop uses attack magic, he would be equipped with that until his next turn (so you could counterattack after his attack, and also attack him on your turn) and not a heal staff, I believe.

I might be wrong, but I think that's how it works.
