Turn Eight: Inconceivable!

INIT:
Token Sharpshooter(45)
Mr. Banker(43+10=53)
Igor(10-10=0)
The Roach(23+10=33)

Mr. Banker begins a funky groove! Mr. Banker Luck(2) Something twitches in his leg and he's down, folks! (Lying prone, -2 to dodge)

Token Sharpshooter goes through the next door! Token Sharpshooter Luck(6) Inconceivable! Or rather... "Inconceivable!" You appear to be in some sort of medieval arsenal room. With Vizzini.

The Roach orders his Troll to get the Banker out of the way! (Troll(6-1=5) vs. Mr. Banker(6-2-1=3)) Grab! Throw! (Strength(3+1=4)) Mr. Banker is thrown a ways away. (Mr. Banker Toughness(3)) If the throw wasn't a little weak that might have hurt quite a bit.

The Roach smiles, then charges through the door. Speed(3+1=4) Right outside Token Sharpshooter's newest room!

Igor drops the door, then charges after Token Sharpshooter. Then he runs right into a Troll. Igor Luck(4) Igor staggers back, taking a fighting stance.

Vizzini! "From a door from nowhere! Inconceivable!"

Meanwhile, in Nevermore Castle's library(one of them, anyway)...

Avery runs! (Nowhere Nevermore(6) vs. Avery Protagoniste(1)) (Nowhere Nevermore(4+1(bad dodge)+1(undead-bane shotgun)=6) vs. Avery Protagoniste(3)) Avery Luck(1) Avery is shot right in the head. And killed. (real rolls, by the way.)

His spirit stays long enough to overhear a little conversation, however.

"No fair! You weren't supposed to-"

"Deal with it. What were you expecting, a fair game? Anyway, we've got to start linking up the Crosshatchers."

"Oh yes. Let's get to it."

(... really?)
(Avery Mind(5+1=6) vs. Serenade(4+1=5)) Serenade feels something batter on her conscious. "Um... Null, I-?" "Not now. I'm busy discussing the Crosshatching."

Null and Nowhere walk off. Serenade winces at your attack.

Continue to mentally possess Serende, but make sure to allow her mind to stay, just not in control.

(Avery Mind(5+1+1=7)vs. Serenade(4+1=5)) Serenade feels something pressing against one side of her consciousness, trying to slip into her body. And it's gaining ground.

"NULL! The zombie's spirit! It's trying to possess me!"

Null does a U-turn, walking back towards Serenade. "Persistent little bugger, aren't you?" Null draws some sort of sword from a sheath at his side. (Null(3) vs. Avery(6)) The sword strike misses. "Stay still, dangit!" "Doesn't this mean the contest isn't over?" "What? N-" "Oh yes. The first to kill the zombie wins. And I'm going to kill it again. So I win twice." "That doesn-" "Hush." Nowhere takes aim with his shotgun and looses a ghost-bane slug. (Nowhere(5)vs. Avery(6)) Avery weaves out of the way of the high-velocity projectile. "You may wish to run- or hover away, or whatever you ghosts do."

"He's getting away!" "You told him to!" "Well it's still true! After him!"
Avery floats through the bookshelves, causing much irritation to the mages chasing him. Avery Luck(2) Avery's ectoplasm touches an odd rune on one of the bookshelves. He is promptly smashed through the floor. Of course, he's a ghost. Avery Luck(4) Avery appears to be in some sort of bedroom. A photograph with two mages features prominently on the wall.

(Avery Mind(6+1=7)) Avery scans the area behind the picture! There is nothing there! (Avery Mind(5+1=6)) Avery promptly flies into the picture, taking control of it. A second later, the bedroom door vanishes and Null steps into the room. "Hello ghosty ghosty ghosty! You can come out now, Nowhere's off somewhere!"

(Avery Pretense(3)) A small bit of slime seems to be dripping from the picture. Avery Luck(1) Null sniffs the air. Like a bloodhound. Then he grins wide, drawing his sword. "I see... hiding in the photograph, yes? A bit distasteful(that's my son's favorite family photograph, there pictured with his nephew), but nice try."
