Karolina fires upon Alexis as they close in, but misses as Alexis evades the raining grenades. However, the evasive maneuvers force Alexis to keep at the current range.

Karolina continues firing for now. Switching to one of her close-range weapons would probably give Alexis the opportunity she needed to close the distance, and she did not like the look of that lance.
