A pump action shotgun, to be precise, and because our current shotgun isn't pump action and is single shot, both of which make it a less then superior close combat weapon.

I'm in favour of the grenade launcher because it'll be helpful in the mountains as well as the other two regions, and might get us handheld grenades as well.  In addition, having white phosphorous grenades would help too.  Also, we have cheap SMGs, and although a pump action shotgun would be better, a soldier can only have one of the two.

Is the SMG considered a primary or a secondary though? If it's a primary, then having a secondary shotgun would be a good idea, as soldiers can then also take rifles.

That would change things up, yes.  I'm pretty sure they're both primary, though.

I know our current shotgun is a secondary, but the tech list doesn't specify regarding the SMG, so I'm inclined to say it is a primary.

So, I think a pump-action, magazine fed (even if it's only 4-8 rounds) shotgun as a secondary weapon would be a real good choice, as all our troops could then take rifles (or substitutes) as well. This will also play into our fierce trait.

I can confirm the SMG is primary from what was said in the Arstotzka thread. I doubt a full-length shotgun would count as secondary though.

Ah yeah, you probably had this discussion already with your parachute rigs.

Hmm, how to improve on our shotgun whilst keeping it as a secondary...

Edit: What if we revised shotgun rounds for our five-shooter? It's 30 cal, so should be easily possible. Might be able to get some other silly rounds in there too (dragon breath anyone?)

If none of you have any issues with this, I'll post it in OOC thread. (With those involved mentioned of course)

I find quite fitting that your national poem is about using obsolete tactics to get murdered by Arstotzka.

At this point, our immigration slogan should be "Come to Arstotzka: 100% less chance of dying in horse charge".

You missed the subscript of "100% more likely to get shot by an AA/AT gun"

It's true. Arstotzka doesn't care enough about their infantry to give them transportation, so naturally they are unlikely to die while being transported.
