Well depending on rather we primarily designed it as a bomber or fighter it could fulfill two very different roles. If we designed it as a fighter it would no doubt be considered a heavy fighter capable of mounting at least two stallions maybe even four along with a impressive complement of brumbys. Enabling us not only to win but to dominate head on and long range engagements with enemy fighters. While the enemy biplanes would be able to out maneuver us undoubtedly the planes large enough we could easily mount a tail gunner that would make it dangerous for them to engage us in a dog fight no matter what also the enemy planes would struggle to take down this flying behemoth no matter what three engines and a steel frame is nothing to laugh about. Also even with the fighter configuration it would still have an impressive ground attack capability. Now a bomber variant would be mildly different more then likely with only wing mounted brumbys for the purpose of dogfighting. then we could have a 360 degree dorsal mounted brumby or stallion as well as a tail gun. It also would be able to carry a massive bomb load in that configuration. It would be the first plane of the war capable of carpet bombing. It just seems to me that the monoplane would be so versatile and so resistant that the enemy would have trouble dealing with it

Taricus my issue with your M3 fighter is that it is a plane built solely for interception. Which no doubt would be useful i just prefer multirole aircraft, vehicles and really everything

Purpose built for a single role means it'll excel in it. And it could do fairly well if it's strafing the ground, though it's more or less designed to let the hornets do the bombing.

I also feel that it's best to have multiple specialist planes to excel at each task than to one Jack-of-all-trades that's mediocre at all of them.

M3 ??? Fighter
A monowing aluminium fighter with cantilever wings and a new radial engine armed with a stallion in the nose. Designed to just be plain faster than the AS-19 Fighter, if not more manoeuvrable. Essentially designed purely to swat enemy fighters from the sky before anything can bring fire on it
I'm worried about the cost. I /think/ we can make this with a cost of two ore, but, if not, it'll be too uncommon to have a major effect.

I think sensei said a fully aluminium vehicle costs three ore.  Do we have that much?

We've got two ore, enough to armor up our planes but not to make a full aluminum plane yet, I think.

Hmm... So, you guys would be good with it being semi-aluminium then?

I'll +1 semi-aluminium, then. It'll be lighter and more durable, plus cheap.

M3 ??? Fighter
A monowing aluminium-reinforced fighter with cantilever wings and a new radial engine armed with a stallion in the nose. Designed to just be plain faster than the AS-19 Fighter, if not more manoeuvrable. Essentially designed purely to swat enemy fighters from the sky before anything can bring fire on it.

Pretty much modified to match in line with the votes above. Though looking at the stats for the aluminium fighters the Arstotzkans have in the other thread, full aluminium would only be 2 ore if I'm correct.

Its PLUS two, so its a grand total of 3, making it expensive.

((Rant: TBH, Fighters should never be non-expensive. Unless you are planning for Ultralights proper avionics can never be non-expensive.))
