They're also described as a peoples democratic republic in this game too? :P
Being a PDR does not mean they are allied to the comintern. Or even if they are socialist, Stalin might rather want them dead later.

Stable AA Gun - A quad gun using the the M2 Brumby, and made for use as an anti-air emplacement. Its made to be light, and tow-able by both Struunks and Horses.

Alright, for the expense credit, let's start making the Hornet cheaper. That'll push the damn Arstotzkans back. Also, would that design allow our pintle-mounted MGs on the Smasher to function as light AA weapons as well?

That would require a revision, but one could do for both vehicles.

So we could just revise in a brumby AA mount, and we'd have both the quad and the pintle capable of AA?

I'd recommend making a dual-mount of the HMG, as it'd be more suited for less-mobile situations.  We really don't need super-mobile AA guns, just something that can be mounted on a train, and can be behind trenches.  The increase in range is enough, and 2x180 rounds/minute isn't a lot, but is plenty for AA duty.  I'd give their planes decent odds at making an attack anyway, but good odds of getting shot down.

Need a name for it, too.

Unless they manage to keep us from getting the Jungle's resources next turn, we should hit three oil and thusly be able to mass produce the Model 2 Hornet, meaning we'll have even numbers advantage in the air and a better fighter. Even if we loose the Mountain's Ore income for the turn, we'll be getting a replacement ore from the jungle, and so we'll remain even on that.

The combination of more fighters and not actually decreasing in ore even if we loose the mountain's income means that while an AA gun could be very useful, I don't think we actually need one.

For dealing with the whole air raid thing, since they lack a proper bomber, I think what we should do is spend our Reversion Phase to get Armored Trains just like the other side has, that should deal with it.

Alright, for the expense credit, let's start making the Hornet cheaper. That'll push the damn Arstotzkans back. Also, would that design allow our pintle-mounted MGs on the Smasher to function as light AA weapons as well?
With the Oil Income from the Jungle it should already be cheaper next turn, spending the expense credit on it would be a waste. On the other hand, if we spend it on the Smasher, as that would make the Smasher easy to produce. We should have 2 Ore, 3 Oil next turn if we loose the mountain's income. If we keep it, we'll have 3 Ore and 3 Oil. A Smasher costs Costs 4 ore, 2 oil. Spend that expense credit on making it cheaper and, well, who likes the sound of mass produced tanks?

I'd much prefer using the ore from the jungle. At any rate we'd need to design logistics to actually cart the resources back.

As for the expense credit... honestly, I'm more than willing to go with the smasher if we can make it's cupola MG AA capable. Let's see Arstotzka's face when we spam tanks that kill EVERYTHING. That'd require the revision AFAIK, still waiting on Sensei's ruling on that.

I am fully for revising the pintle mount, and making the tank cheap.  Hell, we might even get away with no design for AAMGs by putting a tank on every train!

Then we can use the design for something logistics worth, or something completely new.

You can revise a pintle mount for all your vehicles that already had MG's, as one revision action. The quad brumby thing would require some designing.

Ah, okay then. Those quad brumbies would be pretty good in the forest too.

And would we be able to slap on an armour quality thing on the same revision as the pintle mount?

Hmm.

How about this:

We make a dual-purpose, treaded, SPG 2.5" arty cannon, with explosive shells.  Then we redesign for pintle-mount Brumbys for vehicle aa capabilities.  Then we use expenses to make the bomber cheap.

Or redesign for armor instead.

...We already have a SPG. no need to make another one right now.

Also, for the spy, I'm thinking we offer protection to the LoN officials. Not only does it establish us as the 'good' guys on the continent, but makes any attempt by Arstotzka to steal their notes inherently risky. Add in some pretty decent brown-nosing and we could deny them a seat in the league while we secure one ourselves. Maybe gift a couple of the tigers to them?

Switching my vote to an AA gun design based around dual Stallions, lets name it the Mk 1 Stampede. It can serve multiple purposes as an AA emplacement, and an AV emplacement while still being tow-able by horse and Struunk hopefully. We can then use our revision action to build a railroad in the jungle (unless that'll happen automatically) to transport our gains there.

Aside from that we can also do a revision to make our armor quality, and production better to make stronger, cheaper armor plating for our vehicles.

Maybe, the pintle mount is a pretty small change.
