Wee dont need one, their tanks are slow as balls, using direct LOS at guns from the Revised Bombardiers would deal with them on the plains.

Exactly! So Revise the Bombardier gun, and make something else other than AT.

I am only voting for the grenade due to the ridiculous size of the gun they are trying to put on the SP AT, if they scale down the size, sure I'll vote for it.

With a grenade however, wouldn't they be too short a range to provide deterrent against enemy armor? At that point, they'd already be over the trenches, right? Wouldn't something with a longer range, such as the SP-AT work better, as well as being applicable in the mountains too?

Its over sized though we are strapping a gun that a destroyer would use onto a chassis, a higher velocity, lower diameter gun would do much more damage, and allow for faster fire, and more ammunition.

Eh, artillery guns aren't that small. Besides, the grenade also works to pelt the enemy infantry to ensure they aren't near the tank as well.

You can only throw a grenade about 15-30 yards... By that time it doesn't matter if you blow up the tanks! The freaking infantry are going to pour into your trenches and the it's up to luck to see who wins. God help us if the enemy develops a new trench-fighting weapon, then we will almost certainly lose the plains for good.

You can't use the grenades in most assaults either without tanks to protect you during the advance! Assaulting trenches head on just didn't work, historically. Grenades have never been a principal anti-armor weapon. In fact they are obsolete today. We still wouldn't have a hard counter. The enemy will be able to keep attacking since we have no way to aggressively deal with their tanks, only a method of passively destroying them AFTER they've done their damage.

It isn't an artillery issue, it is an anti tank gun issue, we are over engineering the SPAT by throwing practically an artillery piece on it when all it really requires is something to destroy armor, and a destroyers cannon isnt the answer to that, we aren't fighting ships, we are fighting a slow, kinda shitty tank.
