Why are you doing that? I cant find anything on giving the US ore. Or, for that matter, why we would want to. Hell, I cant even find out why the US may want the ore.

Also, does anyone else think that eventually something halarioushorrible will happen like Agent Sandworm getting seduced by Agent Promised Crucible and they both eloping to some third part nation (or visa versa)? Because, well, what they spent 1930 doing jsut sounds like something out of a romantic comedy (or a cold war spy novel).

A little thing called the Great Depression.

You consider trying to kill someone with a combination of sharks and grenades to be romantic? Anyway, no Arstotzkan would ever be interested in a Moskurgo filth dog. Just because they're opposite genders doesn't mean they'll fall in love or anything.

Glory to Arstotzka.

Do the thing that lets us solve Moskurg's new encryption.

Ah, but remember that it failed harmlessly. He could have been lying as to what the intent of it all was.

Also, the great depression did not mean that there was nothing being made. In the case of food, for instance, alot of it rotted in the fields because it was too expensive to get to market(or rather that it couldn't be sold for enough to break even on the whole thing). There is a reason why some farmers in the us are paid money by the government not to grow a crop.
And the dust bowl was ongoing and causing crop failures, but that was just the midwest.

Instead of just making the 09 not shitty and not jam, how about fitting our new ammo types to it, make it lighter weight by substituting aluminum for non critical parts, improve accuracy and add a custom scope.

Edit: It is already semi automatic so we don't need to add that.

are you really going to revise the pistol? if you want to make a brand new fighter next turn, vote the ammunition upgrade at least. Pistol is only for when our SMG is out of ammunition, it has a very limited role in the battlefield. We are better off not touching it.

It is the last fallback weapon, and it jams EVERY TIME it goes through a magazine.  Once we have one that doesn't jam horribly we can ignore it forever.

It was actually mentioned as being used in this turn's battle report for when our rifle dudes got closed in on. Anf dince we have a LOT of soldiers with rifles, this revision would make for a more effective fighting force for close in and times when you need to fire a gun, ANY gun, at that guy charging you and you can't reload your rifle in time. Plus, we can do this revision and be done with it and not have to worry about sidearms again(at least until if we decide we want a pistol that uses a larger round, though I'm not gonna hold my breath on that :P)

As for revising it to use different ammo, I'm not sure what ammo we have that'd be useful for a pistol :P

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

But pistols are marginal. Of course a good pistol beats a bad pistol. But it's all about the opportunity cost.

I vote for armoured skirts for our tanks and vehicles.

Right now our pistol is "fires five times if your lucky before jamming" bad.

Yeah, which really sucks for that 4 times a years when a soldier have to use its pistols. Pistols weren't even issued to most infantrymen in WWII, and all the troops which need a sidearm (Artillerymen, pilots, snipers...) can just grab a AS-MC16A.

We should just obsolete that pistol.

Yeah, an SMG isn't small enough to be a sidearm unless it's the size of an Uzi...which the MC16A ISN'T.

Of, sidearm isn't the perfect word, call it PDW if you prefer.

Also, what the hell are you talking about that the 1911 wasn't issued to most troops in the war? They make almost 2 million of the fucking things, and issued it pretty damn widely. If we have a pistol like that we don't need to worry about close in so much.

Yeah, for officers as a mark of rank and for rear-area personnel before they had the M1 Carbine.

Anyway, can you seriously tell me than a better pistol would be a better way to spend our time than cheaper aicraft or anti-Hippo/Rhino armour, or better ammo (incendiary for our planes, tandem heat warheads to defeat slats or aerodynamics warhead for the AS-RPG28?

Tandem heat defeats reactive, not slat armor though.

Slat is generally ineffective enough not to need special countermeasures.
