Unless the bolded part was you switching the vote to the autocannon, Ukrainian ranger?
Nope. I would post updated vote count if I did.

Nevermind.....

I have decided to switch my (I know it gets annoying but this is the last time, probably.) to the first auto-cannon.

And I'll throw my vote to UR's idea. it seems to fit our current needs decently while still allowing some future use.

Spoiler: votes (click to show/hide)

and this preferential vote is annoying. Sure, I dislike first past the post too, but this is going to make bookeeping hard on either us or the GM.

As of this moment, the autocannon wins the first turn with 4 votes.

UR, I kept your previous options as preferences.

Damn I got a vote after I decided to delete it to not delay final decision. :D

I change my vote to 20 mm autocannon to stop the discussion. It  means five votes for it and unless miracle will happen AS-AC18\AS-AC18-20 wins

Lets hope that it will be useful for holding plains

honestly, I doubt anything of the stuff we were designing would have had that much impact in the plains next turn. we have plenty of machine guns which can already pierce their armor, adding more won't make a difference. our artillery works fine against their and our submachineguns dominate close encounters. In short, they can give us trouble advancing, but unless they get something radical, they have no chance storming our trenches.

Well, it seems the AS-AC1918 (20x100 mm Autocannon) WINS THE POPULAR VOTE
reposting it here for convenience.

The benefit of developing a weapon using API ignition is that this is one of the more prevalent systems used in SMG's. The Uzi uses it, for one.

I sure hope Sensei gets here quickly, rather than reading the last 5 pages of discussion and changes.

Votes are overwhelmingly in favor of the AS-AC18. Rest assured guys, I update the thread when I have time. ;)

Actually, I have to ask just to be clear: Are you attempting to make this man-portable?

I dont think so. If it can be, well, thats icing on the cake, but I dont think we are aiming to make it able to be fired on the go by ground pounders.

Depends on how you define man portable. If you mean, a few dedicated people can carry it around if they want too, then yes. If you mean, firing on the go, then no.

I think we are attempting to do a gun that weights 30-50 kg without carriage.

Something like this : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hispano-Suiza_HS.404 or this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MG_FF_cannon or more primitive - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Becker_Type_M2_20_mm_cannon

man portable in the sense that a man can carry it, but firing on the go? this thing would be way too big. we filled that niche with the submachinegun.

The gun should at least be portable enough to use in the Mountains.
