Why ironsight on the battle rifle instead of optical one?
Optical is too expensive with our current optics and too ambitious if we want new optics. That and the fact that fully automatic weapons don't usually require telescopic sights.

Glory to Arstotzka.

Do note, Moskurg has 2 design actions. It's likely that we'll have to face a new threat in the sky and on the ground this turn.

Well, the good news is that without ore, they can't really field anything. I'd expect them to focus on infantry and light weapons.

Now, I think we should go for an assault rifle. We can use the experience from capured M-47.

I was thinking about suggesting a wire-guided ATGM this turn...

Just a question, what is the difference between this new weapon and our existing weaponry?

It doesn't seem to be too different from the rifle/light machine guns we already have. I mean, the only difference, as far as I can see, is the ability to toggle between full auto and semi auto.

Quote
-AS-F14A: A 7.62mm, semi-automatic rifle. It is an open bolt blowback action, and uses a 12-round box magazine which protrudes below the gun. Unlike the Nosin, the bolt has a small, non-rotating handle on the side of the gun. It has adjustable iron sights. The weight of the moving action makes the gun difficult to control compared to the Nosin, but this is mitigated by using a full size and weight barrel compared to the original carbine version. The blowback action is now more reliable, though still open bolt. Also available as a carbine.

-AS-1924: A light machine gun using 7.62mm rifle rounds. It is gas-operated, with a box magazine, a bottom-fed 25 round rectangular mag or 60 round drum. It includes an aluminium stock, magazines and fixtures, which are lighter than wood fixtures used on previous guns, though the barrel, action etc are steel. It is easily man portable at 8 kilos, allowing one man to carry the gun and a decent amount of ammo, though AS-1924 gunners are still often accompanied by a man to spot and carry additional ammo. It can be fired while standing or kneeling, with its pistol grip and overhead foregrip, but is most accurate when used with a bipod. Sustained fire (through multiple magazines) can cause overheating. Shoots around 500 rounds a minute. Costs 3 ore

We're doing absolutely fine when it comes to anti-tank. Our infantry, our land vehicles, and our planes are all capable of killing enemy mechanised units.

What I've just noticed is that we have an Expense credit sitting in our Resources unused. Should we use it on our tanks to let us make a large armoured push in the Desert? The problem is that its effects won't be as great in the Jungle and would be utterly useless in the Mountains where the fight is most important.

Glory to Arstotzka.

Despite them both being 7.62mm, the bullets they fire are actually larger than our assault rifle bullets. It's also lighter than an LMG but bigger than an SMG and still automatic. Do I really need to explain the difference between a battle rifle, a light machine gun, and an assault rifle?

We also make sure to make it better. I mean, we're doing okay, mostly we need to prevent them from gaining the Nazi ore.

Can I suggest using our revision to make shotgun slugs? That should help when penetrating that new armour they have.

We don't really field shotguns. Shouldn't AP round go through? I mean, that's some rather ridiculous armor there.

Resubmitting some orders for you guys to +1.

Battle Order: Give our soldiers one magazine of incendiary ammo for their main weapon and their sidearm each (Mountain troops excluded). Excellent for decreasing enemy morale, inflicting damage, and blowing up flamethrower troops.

Production Order: Paint our vehicles in camouflage colours.

Obsolete the 1910 Mag, the MC16, the AS-A19C, and the AS-HF-24.

Glory to Arstotzka.

Are we going to give Nazis assault rifles?
Man, we sure will all speak German soon.

I wonder if a T-33 turret would count as a deck gun.

Personally, i think that taking both nazi ore and the mountains will be impossible.  They will do all they can to keep them.  Either we step up our game there or they will resume mining next turn. As much as I like the assault rifle or the APC, I think this mihht be the time to get a proper mountain artillery.

There's no reason not to. We use none of that stuff any more.

The AC18 would make a better deck gun.

Enough with the mountain artillery. Our light mortar works fine as such. Besides, Sensei has said multiple times that what matters most in the Mountains is long-ranged small arms. Unlike mountain artillery, an assault rifle would be useful on two fronts and has a chance of getting Nazi Ore. Since we're now capturing the mines, any small advantage that mountain artillery would've given us will be diminished and will be diminished further if we actually capture all the Mountains.
