How do you feel about the use of guns in this setting?

We know how to make them and they're useful, mainline production.

But could I also work on steampunk stuff, is the question? So far all I've done is built a wall in the middle of a river, and used the water to turn a big wheel.

I'm actually counting the dam construction as being rather more complex than just a wall, but you're certainly not doing anything new. You're certainly more competent than Gwolfski in pretty much any given field, though.

I know it's more complex than a wall, but that's what it is in comparison to most steampunk things that I've heard of. Maybe I'm just under/overestimating something.

Eh, it's complex, certainly. On the other hand, if I was going to entirely restrict you guys to what you're actually capable of researching, I'd have needed to do it a year ago.

Things may change when the campaign ends, at which point it's possible I'll make a second installment with more defined rules.

Actually, to expand upon that, I do consider this to be a campaign, not an indefinite project. There are definite end-game states, and I will attempt to push you towards one or the other.

You may very well, but player control ends before then unless things go entirely against my plans. Campaign Two is intended to be another set of characters exploring the results of Campaign One, whatever they may be.

Again, nothing your characters outside this world do is relevant, otherwise there wouldn't be a reasonable way to stop you, say, teleporting in strategic weapons at enemy strongpoints.

You could totally build a cloning machine here though. With a great deal of biotechnical research.
