Thou Art Adventurers: An Open-World RTD
« on: July 21, 2015, 12:59:37 am »

Thou Art Adventurers

Ye begin in the harbor town of Renethport, located at the edge of the Great Nation of Alexandria, which covers half the known world. The Lesser Nations make up another quarter of the land, and last quarter is the wild region known as the Frontier.

This is a world of much fantasy, although the days of wizardry are long gone. (But some remnants of them may be found)
And thou? Thou art adventurers!

The first player to join decides where the adventuring party will begin. (Tavern, ship, etc.)

Each player will have a defined role in the party. This will be the only reason for getting bonuses on rolls.
Work together to create complementing roles.

You cannot wield magic, but you can find magic weapons to wield.

Each player may choose a rumor that their character has heard. (example: location scary cave with werewolf)
It may not be true.

Standard d6 will determine all but mundane actions.

    Things to Remember:
1) This is a serious game
2) This game is simplistic, but not minimalist.
3) This game is open-world. There is no main story-line. (For now)
4) Your characters aren't superheroes. They have to work together to overcome obstacles.

I may be first to join but I ain't deciding 'nuthin, let the second guy to join do it.

Gonna assume high-fantasy.

Name:Eric Rylan
Role:Brawler (Fast damage dealer, not good for taking damage, doesn't actually use fists.)
Bio:Eric is from minor nation called Selean, where he spent several years as a mercenary, which, he decided, was too risky for the amount he got paid, so he made way to Renethport via trade ship, where he is going to start his new life as an adventurer or die trying.
Equipment:Two handed sword, studded leather armor, dagger, and a small pouch of gold.
Rumor:Eric heard from the sailors who worked on the ship, who regularly came to and from Renethport, that a small band of 5 vampires plagued the harbor, though sailors who spend most of their time drunk when in port aren't the most reliable of sources.

I'll do a bio once the location is decided, can't do much bio without knowing where we're gonna be.

Glanced over the OP so I missed the important stuff.

Gonna assume high-fantasy.
High-fantasy world, but where wizardry is a thing of the past.

It all takes place in or around the great nation of Alexandria, which covers half the known world (which is comprised of single content and two archipelagos).
The minor nations make up another quarter of the known world, while the last quarter is the Great Frontier.

Name: Delekates.(Man)
Role: Knight. (Would assume this role means classical role from FF series... kinda: Tank/Dmg/Healer. (only heal no supportive skills, with aggro abilities.))
Bio: Blonde long hairs, 1.82m, right handed, pure white skin, freckled, likes domestic animals and rains, hates liars and necromancers (LOL).
((i dont want to decide place eather.))

FF series? aggro abilities? What does it mean?

I am going to have to say no. Your characters are only human.
However, during a battle, you may try to distract/intimidate your enemies, but it won't always work.

Also, the healing ability cannot be magical. (See OP)

Spoiler: Character sheet (click to show/hide)

As you want us players to have a role, I decided to go for the Healer which does the talking for most of the party. If you'd like me to make my character be more of a combat-oriented person then just say the word. As for a location for the party to start in, and because no one appears to want to choose anything, I say we start in a church.

Non-combat roles are fine. Depending on the party's actions, they may be essential.

Whoops. Miswrote OP.
When I said "Each of you may start with a rumor," I meant the player gets to choose the rumor.
Feel free to make whatever changes to accommodate for this.

i read intro no worries  8)
lets just look it if i would have 10 pts then
5tank 3warrior (cqc) 2healer
i know that there isnt any magic, aggro can be interpreted as the 1 who starts the battle, and stays in its heat. Of cource its will be hard becouse no magic means literally no heal while in battle. Unless we will have pots or something.
so healer ability is more like + to amount he heals or get healed if some items used or kind of.

what will rumor stand for?

i would say in real life knights are strong warriors with high endurance and still they are educated. Not just barbarians.

Which one?

If I understand it correctly, your character is:
A fully-trained, well-educated knight.
The front-line fighter.
Better at taking hits than dealing them.
Better at attacking then heal skill.

This seems OP compared to the other players in the party. Could you perhaps be a "knight-in-training?"

In addition:
There are no potions (than you know how to acquire),
and I don't get your confusion over rumors. They are just something to start the game off with.

New Addition to character sheet: equipment

Keep it simple and cheap. Your characters aren't rich.

its seems OP, but i hadnt restriction so too late to complain  :P
jkjk. I mean... its urs gaem. I wont go for some "non educated knight" though. I dont say i want ++ to rolls in each stat. Would be fair to take + in roll for being bold/ surviving more hits. Good enough?

i am just new to "rumor" thingy. Ill just wait till some1 make it, so ill have an example.

In my opinion, bios shouldn't be necessary requirements unless the focus of the game is on dealing with the characters' (back)stories. They rarely if ever matter in these types of games.
