"Books burn too quickly to be good torches. Besides, I'll need to take notes of whatever we find."

"I warned you. HF GL!"
Opens door. Gets in. Roll - Check for traps
[5-3] You try, but the semi-darkness makes it quite hard.
(Characters without experience in trap-finding get an automatic -1. More minuses apply if in semi-darkness.)

((He's not the only one with a problem with it, keep it serious.))

"Sure thing, you keep an eye out for our oh-so-terrible priests."

Eric strides down the stairs behind Delecates.
[6-1] You nimbly evade Delekates, who seems to be crouch down, looking for something.
If you hadn't seen him in the semi-darkness, you might have had quite a tumble.

Diana pats herself down and shakes her head. "I've got nothing of the sort on me, but your book might prove to create some decent illumination, should we decide to set the pages alight."

Look for a torch or some unused candles in this room.
[3] You find 3 half-used candles, but no method of lighting them.

Go back out, buy a tinderbox, come back inside and light the candles.

Done. The candles are lit.

Take one of the candles and start exploring the catacombs.

Take one of the candles and start exploring the catacombs.
Join Margrave down the stairs.
Though your candles exert very little illumination, you can tell that the stairwell leads not to some catacombs, but rather a peculiarly barren basement. Other than the rotting crates, the only thing of note is a strange slab of stone foreign to the room embedded with four ring-shaped handles, which rests in a corner on the floor. The slab bears no engravings.

"So much for magic and treasure, hmph."

"What's this thing then?"

Try to pick up the slab.

"Usually catacombs have their own torches, guess none expecting us here."
While moving to the rock, search for unlit torch.

"So much for magic and treasure, hmph."

"What's this thing then?"

Try to pick up the slab.
I believe that this may be a cover to the catacombs entrance. Help me shift it, would you?

Grab ahold of one of the handles and give it a lift.
Help with the lifting.
Behind the slab is revealed a steep and rough stone staircase, leading down into the darkness. A musty odor comes up from below.

"Smells like your goddess's armpit, hopefully in the future we'll be able to explore better places."

"Suit yourself."

Carefully go down the stairs behind Diana.

Those who reach the bottom of the stars will find themselves in a room only partially-illuminated by the candles. There seem to be shelves chiseled into the rough stone walls, upon which prone figures lay. There is a statue in the middle of the semi-darkness. Two other doors can be vaguely distinguished.
