As the battle continues in the north and south three men enter from the western street: a scrawny looking man hefting a heavy axe flanked by two lancers. The man with the axe starts barking orders, apparently he's the leader of this raid.

"What the hell guys!? Can't you take down a few guardsmen? Stop sitting around and rush em!" Feh, whatever. We took care of the militia so these must be the merc guards that've been cleaning our countrymen's clocks. No wonder they're still alive. We'll still win though.

And with his words all the raiders except his lancers charge the Meles guards and co.

Rather than leap at the flier the Mauthe Doog reverts to his bipedal form just long enough to slather some medicine on his wounds.

"Hold fast, Elysia. I will be back." By now knowing the riders would most likely keep swooping down towards the wounded - and therefore easier - target, the solution was easy: he'd kill both of them.

And so the blacksmith Tarvos, with his seething anger contained rather admirably, stormed off towards the nearest of the flying foes, raising his throwing ax and flinging it quite violently at his target.
